Simple, something you hate about your favorite game(s)

My first is the balancing in FF6. How does the god who commands the ultimate power in the universe die in 4 turns, but the first fight with that stupid octopus had me stuck for 2 weeks?

Same in Oblivion, the game can be broken by simply specializing for stealth.

Cloaky-fags in EVE Online.

The screaming 14 year old dickheads on XBLA (GAYGAYGAYGAYGAYCOCKGAYFAGFAGFAGFAGFAGLOLOLOLPENISGAY)

Neverwinter Nights 2, Mask of the Betrayer is probably my favorite RPG.

And yet I detest the manner in which the spir-eating was implemented. Even on a supressive playthrough, it gets annoying.

Assassin's Creed 2/Brotherhood. No being able to ditch or throw your current weapon. Or keep a spear. Or keep the broken ends of a spear.

I hate how Resident Evil 4 keeps ending. I just want more...

Okay, a serious gripe about the game...

Sorry. Can't think of one at the moment. Maybe I'll come back to this...

What didn't you like about it? The Wii version was my favorite version as well, but I missed the laser sight.

There we go! That's my complaint about RE4, at least on the Wii. No laser sight!

The fact that they didn't make the dynamic, changing economy in Freelancer. Would make shipping commodities that much more tricky but potentially more profitable. Otherwise...

*endless fanboy praise, etc etc*

Dynasty Wariors 4.

I hate the auto-locking the characters do when you attack someone, luckily this was fixed in the Empires expansion but to be honest it was one of the only things I really didn't like about the game.

Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction.

...it ends.

Okay seriously, the vehicle control was a bit sloppy at times and there wasn't much variety in civilian vehicles. Also you had a very limited vehicle selection to buy from and some of the coolest vehicles in teh game could only be acquired at certain points, the worst example being the Ka-50 which only appears towards the end and you barely get to enjoy using it.

Oblivion. I love this game otherwise, but I felt it failed in basic narrative structure. You could be completely forgiven for never beating the main storyline, or even caring that it's there. Other than that, fucking loved it.

Deus Ex - the tranquilizer crossbow.

Quite possibly the stupidest, most useless, least stealthy stealth weapon ever created.

At least, it would be, were it not for the BATON.

The baton is the most infuriating piece of crap ever weaponised in the digital medium. It's completely random whether it will knock an enemy out or just tickle them, and is easily responsible for most of my quick-saving/loading.

HAXXOR-NEWB!! ROMHAX!!! (I got more that than anything)

---

I wish Tom Nook would stop sneaking into my house right as I'm about to pay him back the remainder of my debt to him and build an addition to my house. "What's that player? Oh no, you still owe me $20,000 for that extra floor I built on your house while you were out just now."

I really wish The Flood had never made it into Halo. I would have been much happier with more vehicular combat and, destructible structures/scenery.

Legend of Zelda and, Zelda II: Link's Adventure. SO! FREAKING! HARD!! Why so difficult?!

Current console games in general: cheats. Some games like Grand Theft Auto IV and the Saint's Row series still have cheats but most games on home consoles are without cheats. infinite lives has been built into them sure, but unlimited ammo/grenades, unlimited health, god mode, one-button combos/fatalities...I would say I miss the good old days but, I've been clocking more hours on my older consoles than my consoles from this gen.

- Half-Life 2: The A.I. is very mediocre, which is embarrasing, considering Half-Life had the most advanced A.I. for a first-person shooter at that time. Also, the gunplay felt flat and dull. The vehicle segments start off very well, but they tend to drag on. So much of the vehicle portions feel like filler, it's like the developers didn't know when to stop the vehicle segments.
Common misconception, the AI in Half-Life 1 wasn't all that special. What made them seem so smart is that Valve spent ages scripting nearly every encounter. All those times when the AI seemed super smart because they'd throw grenades at you and try to flush you out? Set-pieces. The game ran on a RIDICULOUS amount of triggers, determined by the player's position. This doesn't really detract from the experience; in fact, from a design perspective its very impressive that they managed to make it seem so realistic despite nearly being entirely on wires. HL2's AI, in comparison, is actually much better. However, the game's set pieces aren't designed for the AI to take advantage of them very well. Set up a fight in GMOD between Combine and Militia, they'll actually do some pretty clever stuff that you don't get a chance to notice when you are mowing them all down as the God of War Freeman.

And yeah, I agree, the boat lasted about 20 minutes too long. At least by the end of it they were trying to mix it up by having you alternate between driving it and fighting on foot.

MINECRAFT. This might just be my laptop being sucky, but hell, I get constant lag if I stand out in the rain in-game, and even worse if (God forbid) I try connecting to a multiplayer server. STUTTER STUTTER STUTTER CRASH.

Transformers The Game: TERRIBLE combat mechanics. Other than that, it's beautiful. You hit triangle and the giant robot flips up into the air and becomes an 18-wheeler in one fluid motion. That's all I really care about TBH. I went through the missions as fast as possible, trying to ignore the awful combat just to get all the areas unlocked for nigh-sandboxy transformy-racy-fun.

Also, Magicka. Hell of a fun game, but it needs a bloody option to turn down the graphics processing, seriously. Older computers would be able to run it if they'd just implement a graphics option. ._.

Mount & Blade: warband- Not enough diplomatic options.

Assassins Creed: Brotherhood: horrible matchmaking system for an awesome multiplayer game.

Eternal Darkness had one flaw that bugged me now and again: The shoulders on Alexandra Roivas were badly modeled and had a massively noticeable seam. It just bugs me.

Bioshock: The whiners who won't stop relying on the chambers and either turn them off or reload if they die.
