Anything by Damn Yankees. That's what my friend told me to listen to when my girlfriend dumped me due to "family issues."

I had the bad luck to set my iPod to shuffle and the first song that comes up is Cryin' by Aerosmith. Man that sucked.

But, ouch. Because you loved her? I feel for you man, I really do.

Honestly, I don't know very much music that'll cheer up a person from heartbreak. But try something by Lonely Island (i.e. I'm On a Boat) they tend to aim for comedic effect. But if you're not looking for comedy, I normally listen to something like Indestructible by Disturbed to get my blood boiling a little bit, get me in the mood for some video games.

Yeah, I had very similar luck, but the first song to play was the song that we first kissed to, but it has the same effect I believe.

Also, I am very sorry for your loss. My ex-girlfriend broke up with me for the exact same reason, so I feel for you man.

Here you go. I wouldn't recommend thinking about killing yourself though.

if you choose not to deal with the situation

For the country fan

Something a bit different

One of my personal favorites

Hit me up if you need more, or need a bit more honed down to a particular taste in music.

Well, I'm not sure what type of songs you're looking for but So What by Pink seems like a pretty good song to help you get over someone or if you're more interested in sad songs Harder Than You Know by Escape the Fate might be the song for how you're feeling right now.

Try "Mr Blue Sky" by Electronic Light Orchestra (ELO). It's impossible to be sad with that playing.

That sounds harsh, dude. Pouring your heart out for her to do that. Ouch, man.

My suggestion is something angry or comedic. Try the Lonely Island/Tenacious D for funny, and well, for angry? Depends on your music taste.

Tom Petty always pulls me out of a funk.

On another note: You should go out on the town with friends. A lot of people tend to neglect their friends to some degree when they are in a relationship, and reconnecting with them can go a long way towards healing some wounds.

I doubt it fixes hearts but it damn-near fixes everything else.

The ultimate break-up song is Fuck You by Cee-lo Green.

It's the kind of song I can't help but grin at.

The only thing I could think of while watching that video was "damn dude open your fucking eyes and drive!" Then I saw the other guy in the car, so never-mind on that. :)

OP: I speak from an experience that you couldn't possibly believe, but trust me when I say, the worst possible thing you could do is try to keep her in the friend zone. That will negate any healing you get from any music.

Just listen to whatever takes your mind off of it. If you drift back into thinking about her, probably not a song to listen to.

Well, I found this song about a month after my ex left me, and it was funny enough for me to like it.
This one I only heard within the last two weeks.
And these two I just love hearing, since they take my mind off shit.

All I know is that the song is swedish, extremely catchy, became a meme and they play it all the time at anime conventions just because.
so to explain... Why not? it's fun to post.
