I just saw this list over at the AV Club [http://www.avclub.com/articles/these-are-the-songs-most-likely-to-make-a-dude-cry,45773/].

I think one of them actually did make me cry once. It was "Hallelujah" during an episode of Scrubs. But "Candle in the Wind"? Really?

So have any of these or ones not on the list gotten to you?
1. R.E.M,"Everybody Hurts"
2. Eric Clapton, "Tears In Heaven"
3. Leonard Cohen, "Hallelujah"
4. Sinead O?Connor, "Nothing Compares 2 U"
5. U2, "With Or Without You"
6. The Verve, "The Drugs Don?t Work"
7. Elton John, "Candle In The Wind"
8. Bruce Springsteen, "Streets Of Philadelphia"
9. Todd Duncan, "Unchained Melody"
10. Robbie Williams, "Angels"

Tears In Heaven actually gets me every time. The subject matter hits pretty close to home.

I also can't listen to "Starry Starry Night (Vincent)" by Don McLean without losing it, but that's b/c we played it at my older brother's funeral.

Before I even clicked on the topic I had "Everybody Hurts" and "Hallelujah" in my mind as songs that will almost always make me choke up a bit.
(Note: It has to be Leonard Cohen's version of Hallelujah)

Trampled Rose, Innocent When You Dream and Please Call me Baby by Tom Waits are also good for that as well.

Robbie Williams.. Really?

The Scrubs episode with 'Hallelujah' nearly made me choke up, but the rest.. nope.

Hallelujah, definitely. Others...I don't know. I don't want to listen to sad music, because then I'll be sad...

On that list, only Hallelujah and Nothing Compares 2 U come close, and only when I'm tipseh.

Off that list, I find Vacant by Dream Theater brings me near the edge, if I'm in a bad mood or tipsy.

Vacant for sure. Or a few of the songs from Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory if you're feeling particularly down.

Apparently "Torn" by Natalie Imbruglia was known to make grown men cry.

Not a clue if that's true or not though.

"Into the West" from Lord of The Rings almost always gets me, especially when in context at the end of Return of the King...

I haven't ever cried over a song but I always thought if I was feeling depressed and a bit attention hungry I might stick Evanescence - My Immortal on and see who comes running to my room to help me....

I don't think that I've ever cried because of a song, but "Sounds of silence" by Simon and Garfunkel always gets to me.

A song by itself has never made me cry. But if I'm really depressed there are a lot of songs that can make me cry, but they usually have a connection with something else that has made me sad. For example:

Johnny Cash - Hurt (The death of Eddie Guerrero)
Ashtar Command - Dead Man's Gun (won't say why because it's a massive spoiler. But those of you who know it know why)
Amazing Grace (Doesn't really need any explanation)
