I've just bought Sonic 4 off of PSN. So I download it and start to play it. I play the first level and think "Wow, this is a lot like Sonic 1, even has the same badguys and everything"
Then I work my way to the second zone and find "Hey, this is a lot like Casino Night Zone from Sonic 2, huh, even has the same bad guys too...."
So I guess you can see where I'm going with this.
It's well known that SEGA have taken a lot of flak over recent years due to the varying quality of their Sonic games, but this kinda takes the biscuit. I mean, yeah I understand that they gave us what we claimed we wanted but at least with the old Sonic games on mega drive each one had some new level concepts, new bad guys for each level and stuff like that. But with Sonic 4, they are literally using the same badguys and same "Eggman" bosses (He's still Robotnik, I don't care what they say) that they have used previously. So I don't know whether they got lazy or decided this is what we wanted.
So Escapists, I ask have you played Sonic 4? What are your opinions on it? Is it a new experience or simply a rehash of various old ones? And does anyone else feel slightly ripped off like I do?
