So, I'm guessing Sony looked at Nintendo's NES Mini and SNES Mini throwback consoles being all successful and whatnot, and thought to themselves "Hey, we have stuff people are nostalgic about, right? Let's do that too!"

Enter the PlayStation Classic [https://blog.us.playstation.com/2018/09/18/introducing-playstation-classic-with-20-pre-loaded-games/], a downsized fascimile of the original PlayStation made to work with modern televisions. Comes equipped with two full size replica controllers (no dual analogs tho) and is preloaded with 20 PS1 games including FFVII, Wild Arms 3, Tekken 3, Jumping Flash and Ridge Racer Type 4. The complete list of games is not yet known.

Release date is December 3rd, the 24th anniversary of the OG PlayStations Japanese release [small](kind of an awkward number, if you ask me)[/small] and will retail for $99.99 in the US, ?89.99 in the UK, ?99.99 in Europe, 9,980 yen in Japan or whatever your local equivalent is.

What do y'all think?

EDIT: bollocks, posted this in the wrong place. Can a mod merge this with the other one in Game Discussion plz?

No dual analogs, well... fuck. How the hell am I gonna deal with Sniper Wolf (provided that game is in the list) with just the D-pad?

Anyway, it might be great, but Sony has a habit of doing a shoddy job in copying Nintendo (the Move, Playstation All-Stars). And seeing as the NES/SNES Mini is a cumbersome device they'd have to come up with a way to make it not shit to hook up on to your TV.
