Hahahaha, a bit of a point, but the 360 has a large library its just that most of the games that are front and center are shooters.

And the PS3 isn't?

Everything is shooter-centric these days on 360, PC, and PS3.

Third or first person, shooters are the norm!

I really do hate Sony
How are they not getting done for slander (i cant remember if its legal or not at this level (in advertising trying to say dont buy kinects and such))?

OT sony do it themselves with their western titles
UC2 Killzone resitence are really basic and bland shooters with polish
only a few games such as lbp and mg4 and some other stuff are anything at all unique

Thanks for the obvious thread :)

This is why I prefer my Ps3 in all honesty, I have a much bigger library of games that are in different genres.

No, it's an RPG first and foremost.

Microsoft does rely on shooters to an extent, but they have plenty of other games too.

Cod MW2:

Biggest
Entertainment
Launch
In
History

4.7 million units sold in 1 day.

2 million preorders for Halo: Reach

I think that if there is a genre to be worth "relying on" it's shooters.

all news about Sony these days seems to just be ridiculous Sour Grapes.

It's ok for them to be Sony Fanboys I guess, but they don't have to be flaming sony fanboys.

Looking down your nose at the competition only works if you're in Nintendo's shoes, and really, they don't. They do things differently but they don't sit there and say "lol, l2not suck sony/microsoft, ell oh ell"

And especially this, why do you think 360 sold so much, because most people this gen want shooters, it's even become a staple in other genres, Fallout 3, Mass Effect and Borderlands are all essentially shooters with an RPG label but these games are very popular.

It's like last gen, Microsoft could have said Sony is reliant on JRPGs, and they would be pretty much on the mark, because that's just where the trends were at the time.
It's going to be interesting what the trend is next gen and to see who controls because of that.

I thought consoles were reliant on 12 year olds with twitch reflexes and their parent's disposable income?

that sort of attitude (even in jest) is actually really detrimental to the gaming industry, as it's about the opposite of what is actually true, but it's what everyone believes

The trend will continue to be shooters for a long time, sadly.

Next years' release list is a squadron of shooters. I'm getting really sick of them, really fast.

The only shooter I'm looking forward to is Vanquish, after that...Maybe F3AR in the spring, if the development team churns out something solid. Stupid cliffhanger...

The market is over-saturated.

I can't even get hyped for Resistance 3, and I love Insomniac to death. Too many shooters!

ARGH!

Kevin Butler would've found a way to say it with awesomeness.

...I don't care that he isn't real.

... And my answer is: Why not, it works?

Them crazy kids love their shooters.

Whereas Sony is reliant on nostalgia for the glory days of Playstation and loyal fans who will treat every so so platform exclusive like the second coming.
