Ok, so these threads are getting a bit over-done. But a recent debate with my friend revealed a few interesting insights. Personally, I think the best game of this generation is MGS4, also Street Fighter 4 is really starting to make me happy too. Obviously, these opinions are subjective, I've loved MGS since the first one, so I was bound to adore the most recent installment.

What about you guys? Since the 360, Wii and PS3 came out, what has been your favourite game?

Mass Effect. May the RPG and the Space Opera live once more!

Eeeeewwww.

Poor as an RPG, dull as an action game, and an unworthy successor to The Elder Scrolls II & III if you ask me. As a fan of The Elder Scrolls up until now, I found it to be a major dissapointment.

That's coming from someone who voted, eugh, Mass Effect. Almost makes me throw up just mentioning it.

Mass Effect was great. As far as single player titles go I'd definitely say that.

For multiplayer (at least local) I had good fun with Smash Brothers Brawl with friends.

SSBB.
A. Hot chics.
B. Fire breathing turtles.
C. A Ninja.(well sorta)
D. Swords.
E. Overpowered Super attacks.
F. Best Party game ever.
G. Mario.
All beating the crap out of each other.
You fit Optimus Prime and Light Sabers in there and you would have the greatest thing ever made.

VC, maybe it's the manga style and I'm a massive weeabo but it just seemed both relaxing and enjoyable.

Not sure a clear winner has emerged yet.

Left 4 Dead.
Seconded.

Most innovative FPS of its generation and FPS are the blockbusters of gaming.
BAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHA!!! I'm gonna pretend you didn't say that, that just too funny to take seriously.

As for the topic at hand I really don't think there is one "greatest" game of this gen, it would be more appropriate to split it into separate genres.

I'm enjoying Team Fortress 2 massively.

Although, I'll give both Bioshock and Mass Effect kudos for doing what they set out to do.

Brawl already has lightsabers though...they're just under a different name to avoid copyright infringements.

Anywho, I'm going to have to go with Brawl too for now. Truth be told, though, I haven't gotten a chance to play many games on the current gen consoles. There's the distinct possibility of, say, Cross Edge, Disgaea 3, Mobile Ops: The One Year War, Mass Effect, Fallout 3, or some other game I'm forgetting or some as-of-yet unannounced game changing my opinion before the PS4, XBox 720, or Nintendo...something-or-other herald the beginning of the next generation.

End of thread.
