It's the new action figures for the film. What do you guys think: Cassettes or no cassettes?

Time to indulge my inner geek.

I do think ravage and lazerbeak will make some sort of appearance. May not be cassettes, as now he's a jet and it would make NO sense. They'll probably mini-bots like Frenzy was to Barricade.

Though a cassette wouldn't be much of a disguise nowadays. Also in relation to soundwave Lazerbeak would have been about 6 feet tall and weighted a ton, so a six foot cassette is definitely going to stand out.

The live action film bored me to tears when it wasn't annoying me with it's general poor quality. If I'm very lucky I just won't watch the sequel.

Soundwave. The trick's in the name isn't it? At least an mp3 player or something.

Why not a cassete tape again
Because that would be the worst disguise ever. Why not just disguise himself as a betamax player or a 17th century printing press or Abba or something else totally out of place...?

Soundwave should look like just to get down with the kids

Simple, Soundwave 360 Laserbeak can be the eject tray and ravage the controller

realistically they should have set the films in the 70's/80's when the toys were popular. this way they could have kept the vehicles and transformers closer to the original concepts, i dunno what they have done but this does not look like sound wave, the messed his face up, the only real recognizable ver is optimus prime.

Given their whole "No Size Changing" mandate, I'm not suprised that they didn't make him something small that turned big... like Megatron. But still, they're lazy fall back thing seems to be "Jet" these days, if it's a "size chagner" like Megatron or Soundwave... it's a jet.

Hahaha. Betamax and Abba <3 Those made me laugh. Hm, how about a DDR or ITG machine? I mean really, a dance machine? Kids are dancing on it and he gets called to action. Kids that are playing on it go FLYING. Talk about your hilarious comic relief.

True, it seems that every transformers is a jet if they wanted jets they should stick to the G1 cartoon and have Skywarp and Thundercracker

...wait, what? What "No Size Changing" Mandate?

You mean the one in the first movie where they took that cube that was as big as a room, had Bumblebee touch it, and then it shrunk down to a size where Dawson or Pacey or whatever his name was could hold it no problem?

For the Transformers themselves, there was a deliberate decision for them to stay pretty much the same mass. Whereas in the original no-one questioned the fact that Megatron turned into a gun usable by Starscream, and then back into a fifty foot tall robot. (Due to the fact that there were two main toy ranges amalgamated into the G1 line and they were at different scales)

But then, there was far too much focus on squishies in the first Transformers film, and not enough big stompy robots.

And no VF-1. Jetfire was the best transformer.

If they can't have that, they at least need some kind of GaoGaiGar inspired design. The toy lines have had loads (same toy company).

Yeah, I know. I'm saying that they didn't stick to that mantra in the movie. What's the difference whether the transformers can do it or the magic block that makes more transformers can do it? It's still done.

But yeah, I can remember Soundwave turning into a radio right outside the Autobot base (this would have been the third or fourth episode of the original series) and then Spike carrying him in, not noticing any sort of weight irregularity.

And I liked Mirage, because he could turn invisible.

I dunno, a cassette nowadays isn't really inconspicuous because everything is in DVD's or mpeg files or something like that. But I agree with the people who say soundwave should be like an iPod or mp3 player. The xbox sounds like a good idea too, since the little robot thing from the first movie (the cd player robot thing...) looked normal as a cd player. Then again, a random Xbob 360 on the street or in a government building isn't really unnoticeable
