I rather enjoyed the third spider-man. I was able to put up with 10 minutes of emo peter parker in exchange for the action scenes...I thought they were more entertaining than the action scenes in the first two movies

I remember the plot had something to do with Doctor Octopus, The Lizard, Venom, The Scorpion, Carnage, Mysterio and The Hobgoblin, but to be honest I can't remember what happened too well. I can remember a lot of symbiotes, though. And I think you could set your webs on fire somehow - though that might've been a cheat.

It's the cheats I remember most from that game. They were off the chain.
It was called "Spiderman" and it wasn't the Hobgoblin. It was Rhino.
Firewebs was just a normal pick-up, it made web useful against the symbiotes.
I loved that game. I remember the "What if" code that changed quite a few things for the funnier.
Yes! That is the game I was thinking of! I used to love that game. And I agree, the cheat codes were awesome. Ever since I played that game I wished that more games would have cheat codes. The "What if" code was hilarious.

the vulture isn't always old. Often he successfully finds ways of stealing youth from other people.

I really liked the first Spider-Man movie, I completely forgot I even saw the second one, and never even thought of seeing the 3rd one. So to me, its like they only made one movie. And I'd like to keep it that way.

The article caps it by saying that the Lizard won't be in the movie at all, because the "suits" don't want an odd-looking enemy, preferring villains whose faces you can see (the Vulture doesn't wear a mask).
Green goblin wore a mask ...

I found it dumb that they stated that "suits" didn't want a villain with a mask, when just about every super hero out there is wearing a mask.
Batman, Spiderman, Iron Man (faceplate) just to name a few.
And all of those had been brought out this year.

The Vulture's better than Mysterio. That guy was LAME. Although he was hilarious in Spiderman 2 (the game).
Are you kidding me? Mysterio actually does something. Vulture... sucks life out of people for few hours, then flies around in his too revealing suit.

Come on...

The Vulture is a good choice for a villain if you want to focus on aging and maturity, especially if they give this one the ability to siphon youth like in the cartoon. Carnage, on the other hand, is just a homicidal psychopath with an alien costume. He might work well in an action packed movie, but Marvel prefers allegorical, thematic movies.

D'you mean the movie-tie-in or the PSone games? Those were absolutely amazing. Some of the best uses of cheats I think I've ever seen in a video game.
I mean the movie tie-in for the Gamecube. Hands down the best movie-based game I have ever seen.

Except for the fact that Doc Ock killed himself to save the city in Spiderman 2.
Eh, it's kinda open to interpretation. They could say he was knocked unconscious and picked up by a third party.

It's a comic book movie. And like comic books, villains have a way of not staying dead.

You know, if they hadn't wasted the opportunity on Daredevil they could have introduced Kingpin. Though he seems to have a hand in many of Marvel's hero affairs. Likely since everyone tends to exist in New York.

Not in Spiderman 2 for Gamecube. A girl comes running down the street screaming that an alien is robbing the convenience store. When you enter, you find Mysterio, and he has this gigantic health bar that fills up three times, when every other boss' health was small and filled once. Then, you go up, punch him once, and he goes flying against the back wall, health completely drained. *smiles*

I hate the films so I don't really care who they cast to play a villain. As long as that dope who plays Peter Parker is in it, I couldn't give a flying monkeys.

Glad I'm not the only one to notice this. I hate the sidekick idea but always wished to see Vulture for a 4th assuming they make real effort to make it better than 3.

Why? Because you can't do Carnage without upping the movie's gore rating to something unsuitable for the target audience, Mysterio is a gag villain, Kingpin is taken, and Lizard is too predictable and would require far more SFX-work than even Venom to make him believable.

Vulture's coolness factor has often been dependant on the continuity, but even if he doesn't drain the youth energy of others (namely Peter) to become a complete aerial destroyer, he has still had a few formidable moments. The picture of him in Marvel's wikipedia makes him look like a fallen angel. Damn. I think I've been spending too much time on TV Tropes, having to resist the urge to suggest the character trope of 'badass grampa'-whoops. I just did.

EDIT: Just noticed this is my 444th post, talking about a Spiderman 4. *X-files theme plays*
