Hi guys,

I did a swift search to see if this was already up here, but didn't see anything. Sorry if it is. Thought I would share *contains spoilers*:

Well, spoilers there.
Thanks for ruining that.
Apologises. I have not played the DLC myself and just copied the article title with link in without thinking. Was trying to be nice, but I guess I achieved the opposite. I'll change it now. Sorry again.

Proof that DLCs are massive ripoffs since in this case it was obviously something they must have added in the original plot.

In mass effect 3 we'll probably need to get help from the Batarians and this is their way of making it fucking difficult.

People will ***** about the lack of two major choices from ME2 which is this and whether we should have the choice to join Cerberus.

But I liked it this way. Why? Simply because no man (not even Commander Shepard) can have a choice in everything.

The Alliance abandoned you and the Council has ditched you. What alternative was there? Instead ME2 gave you a choice in how you REACT to this predicament in either JOINING Cerberus or simply using Cerberus for intel-gathering.

Same for the Arrival DLC. THERE WAS NO ALTERNATIVES! However, Bioware did give you an option to TRY in warning the Batarians. The choices are more how you react to a world that doesn't always give you a way out of a situation.

I don't get why people say there was no choice involving joining Cerberus or not. If you don't want to work for Cerberus you can fly the Normandy to the Citadel and sit on your hands for a couple hours, then uninstall the game. It's the true paragon experience, so don't knock it til you've tried it.

It's the same as Arrival DLC. If you don't kill the batarians, the reapers will come and kill you and all the batarians anyways, meaning game over. So just delete your save file for the true paragon experience!

The problem isn't making it so you have to do something (this happens in real life as well) but what annoys me about bioware is when they allow you to make a choice in one game that gets retconned in the sequel. I'm not sure this applies to the Mass Effect games but it does apply to the Dragon Age games.

It was no choice at all, which is what makes it tragic. Anyone who wants to spare the Batarians will not only ended up killing them, but everyone else in the galaxy. I liked that. As the guy points out in the interview, some things HAVE to be decided for the player, otherwise there wouldn't be a game. I think BioWare does a good job of having your choices carry over to the next game in their series. It's fun to see how everything works.
