In this review [a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/6.354284-MLB-2K12-Review#14117568]here[/a] We got a bit of a 'the escapist don't know sports.'

Now, I think that's just a silly assumption. Most gamers I know love at least a sport or two. Maybe it's because I'm in one of the reddest states in the nation where even the cityfolk behave like countryfolk.

So... what sports do you like to watch or were involved in? Do you do fantasy leagues?

In High School my twin brother and I were both cornerbacks and occasionally Offensive guards (it was a small rural team you had to go both ways). We also played baseball I was a 3rd basemen my twin brother was a 1st basemen. (I'm right handed he's left handed). FYI My highschool's colors were Baby Blue, Black and silver accents. So any fantasy team I make has the same colors/mascot
I've always loved hockey and wished I grew up in a larger wealthy community where it could've been played. It's probably my favorite sport to go to a bar and watch with buddies.
Anyway.
Go Chiefs!
Go Twins!
Go Blackhawks!

I love football the european kind, soccer to you from across the pond. I watch it as often as possible(from my armchair) don't go to live games because I don't have any friends that support the mighty north east powerhouse Sunderland AFC. I think we've got a chance of winning the FA cup, assuming JI doesn't sky it from 9yds. I used to play football for my high schools B team. By my 4th year of high school you could just ask to be in the B team. Our A team was pretty awesome though.

I'm a gaming enthusiast. Many sports are games. So I end up liking quite a few sports.

I like to watch tennis, and I'd like to watch some more rugby and American Football if they'd broadcast it here, Bloodbowl really warmed me up for the latter. Same thing with baseball. But noooo all us Dutchies seem to care about is watching people skate or bike in circles for hours. And football, but I can't be bothered with that for some reason.

As for myself, I sadly don't play anything at the moment. I'd like to try squash, fencing, martial arts, baseball and re-try tennis again. But I neither have the time, money or facilities to play any of those, so I'll stick with board- and videogames for now.

Also, I don't really 'get' watching ice hockey. You can't even see the freakin' puck!

I love swimming and playing volleyball, but those are really the only sports that I enjoy being apart of, mainly because with anything else I'm kind of awkward in movements and all xD

When it comes to watching, though, I'll watch anything. I love watching the Olympics every two years (Summer and winter) I don't religiously follow any particular sport, but I love to just watch people do it and I enjoy placing bets on teams and seeing what they can do. If that counts...

You're a Twins fan? Like, My Minnesota Twins? I'm sorry...

Anyway, I love watching most sports, namely football (Vikings!), baseball (Twins!), hockey (Wild!) and soccer (whoever is on since we don't get much soccer here!). Though the only league in all sports that I really follow is the NFL (fantasy football really helps me care about teams that are not in my division).

I also play soccer in real life on an old people league. I play fake sports (video games) in the form of Madden, FIFA, and (hopefully soon), MLB: The Show if I determine that the Playstation Move is something I can find for cheap...

Played soccer (and some baseball). Follow baseball, hockey, CFL, a couple of NFL teams, curling, lacrosse, and so on. And I'll watch pretty much any sport that's on television as long as it isn't basketball.

I only do sports in a completely casual, if-you-expect-me-to-take-this-seriously-then-get-fucked sense. I only do it with my chums, usually for no longer than an hour (and trust me, I'm done by the fifteen minute mark), with the teams being incredibly small and stacked, and half the rules being disregarded because of the previous fact.

I have close to never sat down voluntarily during a sports airing, unless it's with friends who want to watch it, or there's something hilarious that I know is going to happen.

I don't like sports. Swimming, (American) football, soccer, track and field, all of it. I've only done two sports in a more professional sense (school), soccer because I was forced and football that I chose to do after all the pressure I was given, and football I gave up before the first game because I was understanding something between jack and shit. Not unfit, trust me; I do rock climbing, marching band, the occasional run, sometimes I lift weights. But sports? Fuck them.

I'm Canadian so I've been pretty much raised around hockey.

I loved the blue jays when I was a kid and still really love baseball (super pumped for opening day.) I've also seen my fair share of curling matches, although I could never watch it religiously.

I did a Fantasy Baseball auction for my buddy who was out of town, I ended up grabbing Albert Pujols and Josh Beckett for my friends fantasy team. It was alright, I'm not really into fantasy sports though.

Pretty much just football, though I try to make it a point to watch gymnastics at the Olympics. Arsenal supporter, as my Firefox layout will attest to. Wish I could watch more matches, but football just doesn't seem to get much coverage in the US, except for the World Cup, which even they can figure out is kind of a big deal. Support Les Bleus on the world stage, despite the absolutely horrible showing in 2010. Hopefully getting rid of Domenech will turn things around, though I'll be sad to not see Henry on the field.

I played American Football in grade 10, and I've been playing soccer in leagues since I was 4 or 5.

My job consists of me watching sports, as I do box scores for just about every popular sport, part of what I do is to watch the game as well so I can work the time left and such so I'm an avid watcher of sports of every kind.

Pretty much this.
The moment somebody starts yelling at other people or getting wound up over any sport that were in the middle of, I tend to just leave. Sure I'll do it to blow off steam, but people that get overly competitive and can't bear the thought of losing/doing it for fun ruin that most of the time, I just don't get why people give so much of a flying crap about it. Same goes for video games actually, people that really get angry at other people about winning or losing are just shit.

I'm a Point Guard in basketball
I'll be playing DB (I want to play Free Safety but not tall enough, so probably CB) in Football

I'm a fan of Baltimore Ravens, Boston Celtics, and Sounders FC.

I love sports, play them watch them read about them. I'd play soccer if I were any good; the only thing I wouldn't play is Baseball because I like to be running and be getting an actual workout instead of sitting on a bench or standing in a field for 95% of the game.

Also I always play competitively and to win; granted I don't get upset or mad at anyone if we're losing or they aren't taking it seriously, but I tend not to play with nonserious players anyway so I haven't ran into the problem of someone on my team loling and just dicking around.

Oh and as far as fantasy sports go? I am okay at it but not great and don't really care about it. For instance I didn't fill out a college bracket (which all of the people who know nothing about basketball are doing at my school; it's funny to look at their bracket and tell them why a couple of their picks are so polar from right it's funny) and only have done Fantasy Football once.

Holy crap; Cornerback and Guard? Either you had massive cornerbacks who got burned all day, or you had tiny linemen who got stepped on all day. Talk about a small player pool! :D

Why are you apologizing to him? Stop feeling sorry for yourselves and be glad you guys aren't Mariners fans like me. There is nothing as soul crushing as watching your team lose 17 games in a row... My motto when it comes to being a Mariners fan is "We can't suck forever". Also, the M's have the best commercials in all of baseball.

Other than baseball, I pay attention to football, and to a certain extent hockey, although once Seattle gets a team, I'll really start following it (I feel like a bandwagoner for rooting for Vancouver). I used to play football back in high school, I played offensive guard, and I wrestled.

Being English:-
I used to play football (i.e. soccer) before I got too slow
I used to play Rugby Union before I got too small
Now I just play cricket, though not as much since my injuries. Basically reasonable level league cricket twice a week screwed up my body. Yes, cricketers do get injured, especially fast bowlers. Though not quite as spectacularly as batsmen.

I am a huge sports enthusiast and I watch most sports. I used to play american football as a cornerback and basketball as a Point Guard. I was an okay corner but I was better at basketball even though I could never really shoot that well but I was a good pure point and I usually got a lot of assists.

As for the sports I watch I follow basketball very closely because my Team the New York Knicks are the only team I like that are any good, and to top it off I was at Madison Square Garden when Linsanity began. I also Follow football but my team the Miami Dolphins keep making terrible choices and it always makes me think that they are aiming for last place every year. I also follow Baseball but my team the Cleveland Indians are usually not that good but I am hopeful about their current team. I do live close to cleveland so my dad and I usually go to see the indians live often.

I play representative football (soccer, ugh) during the winter, rep cricket during the summer and futsal all year round. I love sport, and I can watch any sport and enjoy it :)
