Right i have a little sister of 11 and i'm stuck wathcing a program called Who wants to be a superhero?
It is possibly the most pathetic thing i have ever seen!
Stan Lee has said that if these kids compete in superhero challenges to prove that they are superheros and for a prize will have a comic written about their character.[sp] I just want to note that surely a superhero has to be special (batman) or mutated (spiderman) surely. A bunch of 12 year old kids aren't superheros and they also have some of the most annoying names EVER!!!
Pink Puffle Girl?
H2O Boy?
WTF?!?!

I am embarassed to be a fan of Stan Lee when he endorses this! It makes me a little upset.

I am annoyed... Very annoyed

Wasn't that thing originally where a bunch of adults put on spandex and pretended to be superheroes?
Yeah, 'cause either way it was pathetic.

Yes because you certainly never made up anything when you were younger that could be regarded as stupid by your now mature self. Isn't that right Captin... chunk was it?

Seriously though, he's giving kids a good time, and not in a creepy Michael Jackson way (I hope) there's nothing wrong with that.

Not that I really blame you for being irritated by it, small children annoy me too, I still yell at the TV when a trivia game show for kids is on... perhaps I was that stupid when I was their age, I don't think I was but I am a tad biassed.

I remember seeing a few episodes.

I was waiting for the porn music to cut in, or for the families to appear on the show crying about how their children have wasted their lives pretending they are heroes. It's really, really sad to see some of these people, like all those "Who wants to be a/americas next/what-the-fuck-ever ________" but nerdier.

Depends which we are talking about:

Adult version: Sad and kinda creepy.
Kid version: AWWW! look at L'il Timmy go, he's got powers!! Aren't they creative.

I'm pretty sure that was an elaborate fake reality TV show. I thought it was pretty funny.

I'm ashamed to admit that I watched the first season all the way through. It was pretty painful, particularly since it seemed like Stan Lee was just arbitrarily deciding from episode to episode what made a true hero, just so he (and/or the producers) could keep the more interesting characters around.

So now they're doing the show with kids?? Ugh!

It was fake? I just assumed people were really that stupid.

Yeah, I'm not really in to reality TV.

Better than grown adults doing it. These little kids are having fun right? Surely the comic going to be released is going to be aimed at children anyway, so who cares? Let em' round around in spandex.

Whatever. It's not like Stan Lee can write anymore. Who cares if he makes a comic about one of them. No one will read it. Unlike every other writer in the industry who got better at writing dialogue, fleshing out their stories and doing away with thought bubbles, Stan is still stuck in 1963. I have mad respect for what he did almost 50 years ago, but Stan is really out of touch.

People ARE that stupid, I've seen a couple of episodes of that show with adults and I'm not convinced that it's fake.

IMDB doesn't say anything about it being fake though. [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0377288/]

I was never that stupid ^^
I know what your saying but it still annoys me haha I'm constantly told i'm a grumpy old bastard (at 18, i'm screwed for later life) it just annoys me that it seems producers/record companys/tallent scouts can't do the job themselves so bring out things like the x factor [Que Dramaticly evil music]
I just didn't think Stan Lee would sink down to that level :(

And they did it with adults? Thats so many levels of wrong... :|
