Spectacular.

Let me start off by saying I've never seen a Star Trek movie or episode in my life. I have seen a million parodies, and love Shatner, and have bashed Star Trek on a million Trek Vs. Wars occasions. Which is why it hurts me to say this.

Better than all three SW prequels COMBINED.

Everything I know about Star Trek I learned from Futurama. But this movie was great. Action packed, great cast (fuck yeah Sylar!), interesting plot. Predictable yet satisfying twists. The Coup De Grace, 8 million series references, not crammed in as an extra, but presented faithfully and hysterically.

5/5, terrific movie.

Uhh..I'm going to go watch Empire Strikes Back to remind myself which side I'm on here.

((Know whats great? Loving movies, without bitching about them.))

In the end it isn't very hard to make a movie that is better than the Star Wars prequels.

But I am now a little bit more optimistic for this movie.

Just saw it, OP is right, it's a surprisingly good movie and I AM arguably a Star Trek fan. (not as much as Star Wars but still) One of the best parts for me (besides Spocklar of course) is the pacing. It never feels too rushed or too slow and it didn't feel too long or too short.

Absolutely amazing movie. I'm not too big of a trek fan but I found it incredibly entertaining and my Trekkie friends said it was even better for them. At the very least, you get to 'ooh' and 'ahh' over 2 hours of delicious CGI.

I am a recent Trek fan, and a long time Star Wars fan and apologist.

But fuck me, the new movie was amazing. It's going to breathe new amazing life into the franchise, unlike Lucas' SW prequels which killed his..

I'm either seeing it in 2 hours or tomorrow.
I've been looking forward to this for ages

I agree with you COMPLETELY! Me being a Star Wars Fangirl and not seeing a lot of Star Trek, I really enjoyed it. It never got boring, it was funny and lots of explosions and Chris Pine (Kirk) is pretty damn hot.

God I hate you guys...

I can't see it until tomorrow...

As a fan of both Star Trek and Star Wars I have high hopes for this, and early reviews have been positive.

This movie has made me think that something weird happened to JJ Abrams.

I mean, I can't believe he directed this film. It's so unlike some of his other ... things, in that it didn't totally jump the shark or suck.

I'm not a Star Trek fan in particular, but I might check this movie out, sounds pretty good.

I was worried I had angered the fanboys for a second there. I was about to run for my life.
Never fear. You,

Shall hold the line of TRUE Star Wars fans and prevail. Surely.
Hell yes, we will. We apparently already have a tidy army built.
