Uggh these Rebellion characters look so BORING.

I am rooting for the Empire at this point, they have the coolest weapons, the coolest armor, and coolest vehicles and cooler charcaters, I mean they Darth Vader in this movie (and it hurts me to say that because I like the X-Wing over any Tie-Fighters.)

Also wasn't it the Geonosians that came up with the designs for the Death Star? Not this Mads Mikkelsen looking guy that is the father of that Rey looking girl?
I don't recall them saying they made the designs, just that they had them as part of their database. It's possible that the guy already made the plans at that point (though I doubt it, given how old I'm guessing she's meant to be). But, it's possible that they made the basic design, but he's the guy who is actually going to make it work. They say he is "key" to the production of a new weapon, they didn't say he was the creator of it. It very well could be that they had the design, but couldn't figure out how to handle the power flows and whatnot, but he's the guy who came in and said "do X, Y, and Z, and it will work." Thus allowing them to move forward with the production.
The Death Star was built in orbit around Geonosis. The Geonosians knew about it, obviously, but I think you're correct that they didn't actually design the whole thing (though they did possess plans for it, as seen in Attack of the Clones). In Rebels, the crew of the Ghost discover that the entire population of Geonosis was exterminated to keep the Death Star secret, and in the canon book Tarkin, Tarkin is overseeing the construction over Geonosis.

1) Why did you show Vader? We all knew he was going to be in the movie. He had to be. But they should have saved his reveal for the actual movie. They should have kept his appearances to subtle hints and back-of-the-helmet shots. Keep that mystery air around him until he actually shows up in the movie.
Think about it. Kids haven't seen Vader on the big screen for EVER. It's never too early to start selling those tickets toys.

OT: Doesn't look "bad" but modern blockbusters suck 90% of the time. Won't be seeing this without outside motivation.

I wouldn't see it if I didn't have a cinema coupon. I almost never go to the movies. Looks more appealing than The Force Awakens, and I've gone to every Star Wars since 1999.
Last summer I had 3 movie coupons for the local cinema chain. I went to see Star Trek Beyond in the new the Scape theater on opening night. The regular price was actually so damn high, 18.50, that my coupon didn't even cut it and I had to fork up additional 3 euros. Then the movie being what it is... I sold the two remaining coupons for 16 euros online on the following day. True story.

Ah, so if they built it (I didn't watch all of the Clone Wars), then it's probably going to be similar to Iron Man, in that nobody but Tony could figure out how to make an Arc Reactor that small. They will probably say "You are the top mind in the field of *insert problem aspect of the system*, we need you to work for us so we can get this thing running" And then he will go help them with that specific component. If I had to guess...and I do xD...it's probably going to be power distribution. That the Empire is currently having problems finding a way to power the thing without blowing the thing up. And he will help them find a way to stabilize the power or whatever.

Considering you find Snyder dc movies interesting, that's quite an insult. I haven't watched the trailer yet but I'm fully expecting a minutes worth of a static shot of a piece of paper
I don't find Lois Lane interesting, I am glad they killed of Jimmy Olsen because I can care less about the guy. Lex Luthor thankfully will be less important in the next movies.

Which, I feel, is all the more reason not to reveal him. The kids know he's going to be there, and they get to wait with baited breath until the moment they are sitting in that dark theater, holding their breaths, and squirming in their seats until BOOM! Vader strides on screen. That's a memory those kids are going to keep forever, but it is greatly spoiled by having him in the trailer.

But you're right: From a business standpoint, having him appear makes sense. It's just too bad that business choices often ruin movies for sake of profit.

So many Bothans died to bring us the plans to the Death Star that we haven't seen a single one of the damned things yet...and where the Heck is Dash Rendar? I'd like to see him added in as a Hoss Delgado type of character who THINKS he's in charge but he just keeps on screwing things up like a humanoid Jar Jar Binks.

SPACE BATTLES! HONEST-TO-GOD SPACE BATTLES!
I know right? The space battles were always my favorite part of the franchise. I mean, it's called friggin STAR WARS, not glowstick-twirling and/or pew pew pedestrian wars.

The 'Many Bothans died to bring us this information' line refers to the plans of the second Death Star, in Return of the Jedi. Nothing to do with this one. Though, adding Rogue One, half the Star Wars movies have a Death Star as a major plot point, so I suppose it's not surprising to see some mix-ups.

Wow. I really like the looks of this. I mean literally the visuals. It looks fantastic. I think it looks better than The Force Awakens.

Still just a trailer, though.

Oh pookie, you just had to go there didn't you? I was about to say "I disagree" (since thanks to that sale we got TFA), but hey, maybe I'm wrong. Maybe this trailer could make Rogue One actually look good and...

...nup. :(

Only consolation is that TFA looked good and turned out to be meh, while this looks terrible and might turn out to be good. But I'm not counting on that.

So, farewell, George Lucas, and may the Force be with you. And don't look back, because right now, if Star Wars is your baby, it's making a mess in the foster home, while its adopted parents encourage it.

For the first point, Bothans were involved in the Second Death Star, not the first( and the Battlefront games have Bothans just as a point).

For the second point, no. Keep anything Jar Jar Binks-like the fuck away from Star Wars. A less annoying Jar Jar could have worked perfectly for the original "Jar Jar is a Sith Lord" plans, but the way he was put in the prequels poisoned any chance of shit like that being well recieved ever again.

the original trilogy was lucas and his wife, she used to limit his nastier idea.. the prequel trilogy was lucas fully unleashed.. so yeah ill stick with the disney ones now days
