The Death Star was built in orbit around Geonosis. The Geonosians knew about it, obviously, but I think you're correct that they didn't actually design the whole thing (though they did possess plans for it, as seen in Attack of the Clones). In Rebels, the crew of the Ghost discover that the entire population of Geonosis was exterminated to keep the Death Star secret, and in the canon book Tarkin, Tarkin is overseeing the construction over Geonosis.Happyninja42 said:I don't recall them saying they made the designs, just that they had them as part of their database. It's possible that the guy already made the plans at that point (though I doubt it, given how old I'm guessing she's meant to be). But, it's possible that they made the basic design, but he's the guy who is actually going to make it work. They say he is "key" to the production of a new weapon, they didn't say he was the creator of it. It very well could be that they had the design, but couldn't figure out how to handle the power flows and whatnot, but he's the guy who came in and said "do X, Y, and Z, and it will work." Thus allowing them to move forward with the production.Samtemdo8 said:Uggh these Rebellion characters look so BORING.
I am rooting for the Empire at this point, they have the coolest weapons, the coolest armor, and coolest vehicles and cooler charcaters, I mean they Darth Vader in this movie (and it hurts me to say that because I like the X-Wing over any Tie-Fighters.)
Also wasn't it the Geonosians that came up with the designs for the Death Star? Not this Mads Mikkelsen looking guy that is the father of that Rey looking girl?
