So the Starcraft 2 World Championship is about to start, as evident I decided to make a topic, because why not? We are all individuals interested in games and the gaming world and I think that professional gaming, whatever your opinion is on the matte, is a big part and will become bigger in our world.
On to what's going on - currently several players, world best, will try their might against one another.

First match will be Canada (HuK) vs Korea (MvP), after that we will have Korea(July) vs Korea (NaDa), Ukraine (DIMAGA) vs Korea (Nestea) and again, Ukraine( White-Ra) vs Korea (San).

Usually the standard edition is free and the high quality is not, however GOM is currently providing it's HQ service for free and is encouraging people to donate to Japan.

You will need GOM player (free): download HERE! [http://www.gomlab.com/eng/GMP_download.html]
To watch it: HERE! [http://www.gomtv.net/2011championship/live/]

Who are the commentators?

DJ Wheat, Day 9, Husky?

Tastless (Day9 brother) and Artosis.

Sounds interesting. How exactly are these events covered? Is there one feed for one side, and onther feed for the other and you can watch one or both? Or is there some doofus running around randomly showing you a feed of whatever he thinks is important?
Well...non-koreans are watching the foreign observer. There are no second-stream options.

EDIT: Just so you know, it's live right now.

Awesome, i like Artosis, but Day 9 would of been better.

Is it available as a live stream on team liquids site?

No, Team Liquid provides a direct link to GOM's site, however to watch it you will need GOM player( you can downloaded from here [http://www.gomlab.com/eng/GMP_download.html]).

P.S. VOD will be available tomorrow.

You dind't mention I had to sign up on their site. These scammer dbags said i could sign up via facebook so I gave them all sorts of facebook permissions and now the scubags still need I need to signup on their site to get a feed. Scam.
Are you sure, I don't need to be logged in to watch. Anyway, just register, it's a fast procedure and I highly recommend it compared to facebook log-in.

Is TLO playing?

That dude is a master.
No, TLO decided not to go to Korea and compete. There is White-Ra and Dimaga thought.

HuK already lost

They made me sign up with both facebook and their base site. Very annoying. head to download the player and a streamer and multiple signups. I'm just annoyed I had to jump through a lot more hoops than just "download this player and you can connect".
Yeah, that's annoying.

I think that TLO is amazing, I wish he'd stop dodging these major competitions though.

Shame about HuK though
He is, only a few players can play random and being able to do so is awesome, with the incoming IGN league and NASL we could see more of him, if we are lucky.

Aw, more Tastosis.

Sure, they're the most knowledgeable commentators we have, but Husky is still the most entertaining :p

SC2 is the only game that is actually worth watching on a competitive level, so I'm looking forward to this.
Totally rooting for LiquidHuK.

Well...White-Ra is now on.

HuK games are over, the results:

HuK lost 2-1 to MvP

I look at Whitera's yellow cap and I can't help but think he chose it because the yellow makes him look more duck-like.

Anyway, I hope Dimaga wins...
He's going vs Nestea, I'm cheering for Dimaga as well, but...man it's Nestea.

Since when is Tasteless Day9's brother? Anyhow, Day9 is the only commentator worth listening to. The rest have some combination of idiot (husky) or aren't funny. Thanks for the links tho. I sadly haven't watched any SC2 since November :(

Since they were born? Day9 has made quite a few jokes about how his life mirrors that of his brother.
