Alright so im trying to start a band, I come from a pretty small ass town, Where nobody is good enough or they just don't want to. I've asked everywhere and its just not going anywhere, So i have extended my search here.

I play guitar, I have for 4 years, I prefer rythm but i learn lead when i cover songs. And if i find 2 better guitarists then me, ill drop my guitar and pick up bass like i've always wanted to.

Looking for powerpop (forever the sickest kids) and metal (a day to remember, escape the fate, killswitch engage) genres

I have a female vocalist (MAYBE) lined up. But other then that im flying solo.

I'm 17, And if you seem intrested send me a private message.

How much gear do you own, or do you need to rent stuff? Randall 75watt amp. B.C Rich warlock.
I have a fair bit of money im willing to spend on new gear, But only when i know its gonna get some use. And a logitech guitar distortion pedal.

You gunna write or play covers? Mostly covers, I have written 3/4 songs, but they are all from myself, i have no ideas to bounce off people

You might have better luck with posting ads at your school, music shop, gumtree or Ultimate Guitar.

However I don't condone 17 year old guitarists with BC Riches

I only got a B.C rich because it was cheap for a first electric. Besides what do you mean you don't condone me

Welp, I've been playing ze drums for about 5 years or so. I'm 18 and have a car, so I theoretically can play anywhere (but moving a drum kit is a pain in my ass...)

And I live in south sydney, so you close?

And powerpop?

EDIT: Some more things, firstly: I'm not a big metal fan.
And secondly, is the singer hot? :D

HAHAHAHAHAH

oh man... i had a warlock when i was 17 too

it's not a terrible guitar; it's actually pretty cool having 24 frets... you just can't get great sound out of it

i'd suggest saving up a bit for a strat, saving up a bit more for an epiphone les paul, or saving up a lot and getting a gibson les paul... thats what i did, but i also play a lot more jazz than rock

source: playing guitar for 10 years

(I'd actually love to start a band, but I live in america and this doesn't sound like the best business proposition, no offence.)

You add these thingies [ and ] to the start and end of it.

Then remove everything except the 'youtube' and everything from the =.

So, it's [/youtube=UPxlenE-kic] without the '/'
The more you know

EDIT: And just a thought, a girl singing metal?

Is it possible? (and no, Paramore is not metal).

Plenty of bands have chick singer, except they are generally more melodic/goth metal, none of the bands listed in op even really come close to metal, except maybe killswitch.

I give you Angela and the woman from Nightwish who to be honest, I find annoying but is still in a popular metal band.

As for being OT: Can't help you, I play saxophone and in QLD

Behold, Chick singer. I used those bands as an example of their genre.

You should be playing a hollow-body for jazz, you know...
