I don't know if this topic has been done before here, but it's been on my mind a bit.
Recently the star wars cannon has been clarified, that is everything release after a certain date is cannon and most of what isn't is not.
Except Bioware Games are in the unique position of 1, all being connected story wise, and 2, having story content released both before and after said date.
and now we get a movie villain who is basically wearing the Darth Revan fashion for a new season.
that and Ren's famous trailer line is about the awakening of both the dark-side and the light. Likewise Revan was basically remembered as someone who was both Jedi and Sith and mastered both side of the force.
The answer is probably 'No, this is all a coincidence'. After all, every sith wears that damn robe.
