I love a good stealth game. Wherever it's a don't be seen game like MGS or Thief or a 'Hiding in plain Sight' kind of game like Hitman. Personally I'd like to see more stealth games that use disguises instead of just plain sneaking around. What are your thoughts?

I'm very bad at stealth games. I always have been. I would like to see one that I can play, because it's a genre that I'd seriously like to enjoy.

Even though it was mostly "stealth-lite" I do so love Beyond Good and Evil's stealth sections.

I wish Assassin's Creed could come through for me on this idea of hiding in plain sight. Thats what disguises are used for anyway. Walking around in a garment like Ezio or Altair does, kinda takes away the whole "I'm a super assassin" mentality for me. They're still awesome games, but when I just killed 5 guys and some other guard runs over while I'm walking away calmly in some ridiculous outfit, they won't even question me? Its kinda silly.

I feel like the good stealth games are the Splinter Cell series.

Hanging upside down from a pipe and blasting a dude in the back of the head with a silenced PP7 never felt so awesome.

Splinter Cell, Hitman and Assassins Creed are my stealthy games of choice. Splinter Cell cause i can hide against the wall and shoot several guys before they know what the fuck. The same goes with Hitman with garrotte wire and poison needles. Assassins Creed because well its the Hidden Blade.

I like stealth games, but can't really find any. I loved playing MGS4 on my friend's PS3, but I have an Xbox. I suppose I can wait for MGS Rising, though.

Stealth games are one of my favourite genres.

Seriously, I even managed to enjoy Velvet Assassin a little bit. I like them that much.

Yeah, Stealth games are pretty awesome. Metal Gear Solid has always been one of my favourites, even though the stealth aspect is fairly simplistic. The first Splinter Cell is another one which I thought did well in the stealth department.

Blood Money, Chaos Theory and Double Agent were easily the best stealth games of the last console generation. Why? Choice and great controls, two things stealth games often fail hard at.

I still haven't played a stealth game that has topped Thief IMO. Something about being able to hide in shadows and not having all your enemies armed with guns really makes the game fun. I just hope Thief 4 isn't crap and covered in shitty Ubisoft DRM.

A little old perhaps but the Syphon Filter games, especially 'Dark Mirror'/'Logan's Shadow' are pretty incredible for games on a hand held...Namely because the games work both ways, sneak around and fillet people or pull an LMG and go to town.

i don't really like stealth games because it feels like your only playing half a game, i like a game that gives you the stealth option but will also let you go in guns a blazin

I'm the same way. You might want to try out Assassin's Creed 2 if you haven't; not a lot of stealth and it's really easy to hide, but for someone like me that's a very good thing, and I'm assuming you'd enjoy it too.

I think between Assassin's Creed and Hitman series will have done the hide in plain site gameplay to death. Then again I really like to play though Blood Money looking for different ways to complete the missions, so I guess I'm looking forward to the next franchise that creates compelling stealth gameplay.

They actually will harrass/attack you depending on whether or not your Infamous. If they see you nearby they'll come over and start pushing you around saying how "you were here the whole time" etc. etc. It's easy to get a lost in a crowd, so as long as you quickly make a getaway, they won't notice you. We're talking renaisaince italy, everyone is suppose to look odd.

OT: I really liked Splinter Cell:DA and Assassin's Creed myself. But honestly the best stealth game ever is probably Thief: Deadly Shadows. That was a true honest shadow sneaking game. Thing with MGS is that in lighter difficulty it's easier to plow your way through it, sneaking has no real value. In higher difficulties, it's harder then Hell to hide, so you get the opposite. Only the sneaking is still piss hard. Though they did fix it a bit in MGS4. The system in MGS3 was tedious as Hell.
