In my experience ive seen alot of stealth kings fisher, snake, Garrett, jenson but seriously where are all the ladies i mean you'd think a character based on subtlety and finesse would be perfect for a woman, i mean i know theres stuff like velevet assassin but thats doesnt help the case cos that game wah shit

I have an idea for a futuristic diplomacy/espionage game, where you play as a woman. You complete different objectives in multiple different ways, whether by stealthily killing and stealing information, by hacking, by dialogue routes, by seduction, or by stealing by pacificistic means.

This game involves you choosing from different races (human, half-human, alien), and each one has different pros and cons. For example, a human may be very good at seducing and dealing with humans, but mistrusted by aliens, so that she has to find different ways to deal with objectives involving different races. A half-human may find herself mistrusted by most races, but find her exotic origin, and greater knowledge of different cultures a great tool in seduction and stealing.

The game would be extremely open regarding means towards the ends, and the fun would be in figuring out what is the best way of completing objectives, given the aforementioned pros and cons of races, and the player's choices in dealing skill points.

One day, I may make this game. Until then, it remains only an idea...

We're lacking female protagonists in the first place, which is why there are so few stealthy women.
I don't mind though. I prefer playing male characters.

This is kinda offtopic but i still cant help but imagine a world where all the protagonists have had theyre genders reversed...
That would be awesome.

Kate Archer, of the No One Lives Forever series. It was like Thief, but with guns. [/thread]

Guaranteed: If you have a female character who can choose to either sneak past a guard, or surprise him with her feminine wiles, using the latter will rouse cries of "SEXISM! GAMES PORTRAY WOMEN AS WHORES!" from around the globe.

It's just easier not to.

Well, there was Nova in the canceled Starcraft: Ghost... She did show up in Starcraft II, though. And I guess Kerrigan could also be considered a stealthy character (initially, at least)

And if I recall correctly, there were some stealth sections in Beyond Good and Evil, so Jade kinda counts.

Oh, and Ayame from Tenchu.

I guess there may be others that I don't know about or can't recall right now.

That's why everyone's pushing for a female protagonist in AC3. Granted, it's not really a 'stealth' game as so much, but hey, I'll take a win in whatever.
Been confirmed for years you will play as Desmond in AC3, don't know why people continue to drone on about what time period/character they want.

Well, there's this chick, but...
You just can't go being stealthy when obviously lacking support. It pains me to think about it. >.<

More or less, yeah.

Though, there's also the traditional female burglar outfit, in the form of a tight catsuit unzipped to show lots of cleavage, possibly with high heels.

This has the advantage of blending in perfectly and drawing no unwanted attention. If she happens to be robbing a certain type of club or party, that is.

I know I can't do anything stealthy without a bra... wait, did you mean that?!

Aren't all drag queens stealthy, in a way?

Oh. Uh...nevermind.
Drag queens are the opposite of stealth.. bursting through a door blaring bad disco music and with sequins everywhere doesn't seem like stealth behavior.. though possibly a good distraction, as you could then have someone who is not all glittery sneak up and kill them.

Transvestites are like Ninjas. No matter how garish their costumes are, they will always trick you somehow. Raw skill.
No thats still drag queens, transvestites are the ones that blend in and don't go on stage (well not often..)

I know the game itself wasn't really a stealth game but she was an agent quite capable of stealth. Joanna Dark anyone?

I'd say No One Lives Forver and Velvet Assassin (which I happened to like) are as far as you get. Something that I really admired in Velvet Assassin was how the characterization of Violette gave you the idea that she was a good operative because she was dedicated, efficient and brutal, not because she was a woman and had woman parts. Kate Archer in NOLF had her gender played for laughs and for "stereotype sexist superior/antagonist" a few times, but she too managed to be a well-fleshed out character.

I suppose that technically, you could also count games like V:tM Bloodlines if you play a stealthy female character.
