It's that time of the year again people. Time to empty our wallets to the God's of discount gaming, those clever Valve people and their Steam engine. So I decided to create a the same thread I made last year and during the summer. Everyone start suggestion some of your favorite games that are up on sale on Steam. While you can suggest any game, I prefer that it be something that isn't already a big name game such as Mass Effect or Portal 2. Everyone already knows those games and probably knows if they want them or not. Lets help each other find some games that they might not know about that they can get at an incredibly cheap price.

I'll start us off

And Yet It Moves - This is a fun little platformer with a twist. While you can do your normal run and jump thing, the interesting part is the ability to rotate the whole world. This game can kind of mess with your perspective and it is definitely worth the 2.50 that it is currently going for.

Super Meat Boy - Another platformer for those who enjoy running and jumping. This one is slightly more known, but I still fill like there are people out there that might not know about it. This game is hard... sometimes to a frustrating degree. Speed, Precision, and pure luck are all required to play this game. Pick it up if you enjoy a challenge.

VVVVVV - And ANOTHER platformer (I like platformers okay). This one is a retro looking game with simplistic grapics and simplistic gameplay. You have three things you can do, move left, move right, and reverse gravity. It's a platformer without the ability to jump. All the levels and puzzles have to be done by flying up and down with the shifting of gravity.

So if you see a game you just can't wait to share with everyone else on sale, come up on here and tell us what it is all about.

I'm personally going to wait and see what the daily deals will yield. I was planning to get 4 copies of Dead Island for friends to co op if it goes for cheap. (I know it's reduced already, but still too much in my opinion)

If anything just wait a week or two for the Holiday sale where they'll go nuts with the price cuts.

Orcs Must Die is hilarious and a really fun tower defense game. I'm loving the roof crushers and blade walls a lot.

I got Portal 2. I was strapped for cash when it released, and figured there'd be a price cut around the holidays, so I waited. Now that it's so cheap I couldn't resist. Beyond that however I'm holding out on the holiday sales, when things will go nuts. Fingers crossed for a Deus Ex sale.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
Orcs must die is really good, so is renegade ops, all the dawn of war games are 50% off and that is a really good rts series, Hard Reset is 50% off also and the demo of it was really cool, and SPAZ is 50% off also and its a fantastic space exploration/zombie killing game.

Sam & Max: Complete Series - arguably worth it for the "third season," The Devil's Playhouse. Really inventive, well-written, and psychotic point-and-click adventures, I'd recommend them to anyone with half a brain.

Duke Nukem Forever. It was victim of the ire of quite a few people, and rightfully so, but honestly, there's a lot of dumb fun to have in there if you can take it in stride. The multiplayer is also totally rad, it's old-school Quake-style deathmatch without being too frantic. For $17, I'd say it's well worth a look-in. You'll find something to enjoy in it!

And, well, Portal 2 is Portal 2, I'd say it's pretty much a must-buy at this point and free DLC keeps coming so yeah, if you've been holding out, now's a good time to finally play it. Just remember to bring a co-op partner along for the ride!

Garry's Mod is like 75% off, so if you are interested in that then go for it. Also, ME2 is 5 bucks.

And I am also looking at everyone else's recommendations and I think I am going to pick up Orcs Must Die and possibly Renegade Ops

I bought Stranger's Wrath at 75% off but looks like a waste of money as it won't even start, despite exceeding the system requirements. Updated all my drivers and everything but no success. Very unhappy. :(

Honestly, all I want, I have. Also, assuming that Serious Sam 3 won't drop in price again for a while. So...yeah. Waiting for the Christmas Sales.

This is the number one rule of Steam sales. Always wait and see what the daily deals are. Always. Only buy things if they are a daily deal or if it's the last day of the sale. Otherwise there's a pretty significant chance that you'll end up wasting money when it ends up being 20% cheaper the day after you bought it.

You may have done this already, but check the steam forums for the game!

I am really enjoying Orcs Must Die, I am quite shocked by the 75% off for a game that hasnt been out for so long, guess its sales have died with the release of so many big name games out now.

Would by Duke Nukembut my laptop is crap, I don't know how it copes with Orcs Must die (well it doesn't some times). I was never hyped about the game, but I played a demo on OnLive and enjoyed it, what more could I be after than that.

Did you check the integrity of the game cache? (Game properties > local files) I had the same problem with Orcs Must Die! and that fixed it right up, on a related note, orcs must die is a ton of fun if you like defense/trap games

I used this opportunity to pick up Magicka and Dawn of War II Retribution since I missed their respective free weekends.

I dropped 30 bucks on Steam yesterday (after dropping another 37 at GameStop for Ico/Shadow of the Colossus). Got me Painkiller and all the expansions, and the GOTY editions of Oblivion and Morrowind.

Damn you Steam! Damn you to hell for your awesome sales!

EDIT: Just got Mass Effect as well. 5 bucks! You can't resist that!

Get the Sam & Max complete collection while it's still on the daily deals! Only 2 hours left D8 I highly recommend it, especially the third season.

A few favorites that I recommend are Mount and Blade: Warband, Duels of the Plainswalkers 2012 and Dawn of War II: Retribution ? The Last Standalone(or get the full game).
