I have two questions about Steam.

1.Is anyone else having problems with download speed? Last time I checked I run 2mb broadband and I have 3 computers running,2 of them are doing absolutely nothing while mine is running the internet and Steam. I have no background programs running which could affect my download speed.
However my download speed is about 10 kb/s.

2.My second question is how do I change where my files install to? I got an external hard drive for Christmas and would like all my downloads to go straight there without me having to move them from my computer's internal hard drive.

All help is welcomed.

1-Servers are pretty busy lately. Understandably. You can probably blame me for that actually :/

2-My only guess would be to move the entire steam installation to your external HD. Other than that, yea...

I wouldn't run anything too big from an external, load speeds could get a lot higher.

For number one it's just busy as every one is downloading their new games, I imagine anyhow.

1. The servers are busy and stuff. Nothing's perfect.

2. You'll have to move Steam to that external harddrive, the games automatically sit with Steam itself inside your computer.

Thanks for the help guys I am trying to move my Steam directory now but it's gonna take a few hours.
I will tell you guys how it works when i'm done.
The download speed problem is solved,it was probably due to the heavy server traffic but now my downloads are faster than ever!

EDIT: Thanks for the help guys moving the directory has worked so far.
