Allowing for it's existence in general has the morality system of a game shocked you, offended your own views or otherwise made you go WTF? If so what do you do?
Fallout 3 letting you gain karma for helping a girl drug a priest (in training?) with ant pheromones so he'll leave the church and marry her (or lie to his boss.) If a boy wanted the drug this would border on date rape. I can't be alone in this.

The fact that siding with the slavers in the Pitt gets you negative karma is stupid.

I forgot about that.well morality tends to be in the eye of the beholder (is there anywhere the eye of the beholder doesn't fit?) so I'm gonna go with "more or less

Fallout 3 has tons of messed up morality.

You lose morality for turning a raider into a slave. They're going to be doing a lot less damage as slave than running around shooting people yelling "kick ass!", yet I still get negative karma.

Yeah, I've had my issues with Fallout 3's karma system and the situation you highlighted is an example of one such case.

In another part of the game, if you help the ghouls get into Tenpenny tower peacefully, their leader will STILL go back on his word and kill all the humans. In the face of such a crime, if you decide to bring down the hammer on Roy and his boys after the fact you still get nailed with bad karma!

Yes! I did that as well. I let him in using diplomacy and charisma. As SOON as I went in and saw every human mudered, I personally killed every ghoul in the tower. That ***** made me lose money for killing crowley.

I shot Silver in the face and then for some reason lost Karma when I started 'stealing' the items that her corpse apparently still owned. You'd think they'd have coded that her items were no longer owned once she has no face.

I had this in Mass Effect. You get renegade points for killing the indoctrinated Salarians on Virmire. I still can't work out why, they were brainwashed slaves, basically, how is killing them evil?

Mmmm how about in Fallout 3 when I convinced everyone to let the ghouls into Tenpenny Tower... Good Karma.
THEN when I come back a day or two later, they have killed all the people and hidden the bodies in the basement.
So i pin all their heads to the walls with railway spikes and I get BAD KARMA!!

In Fable 1, you get negative karma by stealing something from your own house but good karma for killing a monster that's trying to kill you. This makes it difficult to play bad character's without periodically murdering villages to get the karma level evil again.

I guess Knights of the Old Republic kind of has an excuse in that the Force's morality is kind of objective, so if you disagree with it then you're "wrong" since it has nothing to do with your moral code. Even so, some of the things that give you Dark Side points are just odd. Wait, so it's okay for me to kill a prize fighter, but doing so in an honorable fight to the death instead of running up and blowing his head off in a bar is a dark side move? What?

I disagree, but then again I'm not religious. Fallout 3 giving you negative Karma for turning in Seagrave Holmes is angering.
I don't think THAT has anything to do with religion.

It's the whole idea of giving someone drugs to manipulate them.

If there was a guy instead of the girl, there would be somewhat a lot like date rape drugs.
It does sound a lot like a date rape drug, irrelevant of gender. Women can drug, and men can get drugged and raped IRL. Insisting that it only counts one way is deeply sexist.

As an aside, magic "love potions" in fluffier fantasy games seem innocuous but at its core it's the exact same thing.

Whores, of all things!

And if I decide to kill the guy who makes them into whores?
Negative karma!
I just can't win.
This is what I'd think Jack the Ripper would say if he played Fallout.

True that. Like in the "you gotta shoot em' in the head" quest in Fallout 3, why does killing the ghoul bigots give you evil karma, when doing so is a good thing for the ghouls? Karma is a state of mind.

I don't think there exists a moral choice system in a game that involves the player in a meaningful way yet.

In Fallout 3 none of the moral choices really had much of an impact.

Partly that's because the NPCs still suffer from being stiff and unreal when you talk to them.
Also, NPCs have the annoying tendency to yell at you every time you knock a piece of trash over in a town
or even glance at a locked door.
I blew up Megaton and ended the game with good karma.
