You know the ones I'm talking about. Those shitty, pandering, racist programs riddled with logical fallacies and completely irrelevant and often fabricated stories. I'm Australian, so for us our best examples are A Current Affair and Today Tonight, two programs on competing channels that at often time directly attack not only each-other, but also the unemployed, muslims, migrant workers, the homeless, businesses and other countries.

Here's one example, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQJcsQpmSLU, a piece covering the apparent invasion of moderate Muslims who under the surface are secretly Sharia-adhering extremists attempting to subvert the Australian democratic institution by converting swathes of the population so that they may achieve an elected majority. Notice how the only refutation of any of these claims comes in the final 5 seconds as an aside.

This is just one example, The Chasers managed to point this stupidity out repeatedly http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZG2tWuLTS_A&feature=related and I'd definitely recommend an archive crawl to check out some of their other work with these shows if you haven't seen any of them.

So everyone, what are your opinions? I know there are dozens of examples of these at often times hilarious news reports where the stupidest people in the country are interviewed, ethnic music is played over the segment and dark cuts and dodgy re-enactments run wild. Spread the worst (and the best) so that we can all sit back and have a laugh. What are your opinions? Do you have a crazy uncle that repeats some of the theories at family functions? Do you ever just sit on the couch and maintain a smug sense of self satisfaction while watching them?

I know I do!

Don't blame me if your ears start bleeding.

I had to watch it twice. I think I blacked out the first time, or my brain just decided to delete the memory but I think some defensive mechanism against stupidity triggered. I watched it a second time, better mentally fortified, to understand and remember it. I have just one question: Why did you hurt me so badly, did I set your mother on fire or something?
