Hey People,
Just canvassing a few ideas before I bounce around between ISP and Escapist Support.
I have been happily watching videos on escapist for over a year, but in the last week streaming has been dog slow for me.
I'm based in Melbourne, Australia and have been watching the High Quality Streams available to publishers club without issue. As of about approximately 4 days ago I cant even buffer a standard quality stream in under 30-40 minutes.
All my speedtests have stayed the same, my downloads are still the same. In fact I speedtested while allegedly buffering the latest Extra Credits and my speeds wasn't affected I was getting 95% of the speed I normally get.
My guess would be that either my ISP is choked to the states (fairly unlikely I'm with a good quality ISP (iiNet)) or something has happened in the CDN that distributes traffic to Australia from the Escapist.
Anyone else getting affected like this? Any other hints?
For the obvious questioners a few answers:
1. Yes I'm sure nothing else is runing in the background.
2. When testing with BT and FTP I get my normal full speeds without any issues.
3. Youtube streams without problem for 720p content
