Suggestions for new parts?

A while back, I added a GTX 1060 to my rig to replace my previous card (which was dying). As most of my rig was built several years ago, I'm looking for possible new parts to compliment my currently-bottlenecked GPU (put things into perspective, my CPU is an AMD-4300, and my RAM is 8gb DDR3).

I know I'll have to upgrade to DDR4 (possibly bump it to 16 gb for the sake of future proofing) when it comes to RAM, but what do you doods recommend as far as a CPU goes? Don't limit me to AMD as well. I know Intel CPUs tend to be used more often, as they tend to be more powerful, and I need to replace my MoBo anyways due to it's PCi-e slot being part of the bottleneck apparently.

As far as current prospects go, on one hand, Logical Increments recommends a 3.3 Ghz i5-6600 (shown here: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0136JONRM/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2CBYUECZHJ5R4&coliid=I1OQU8O74ZWRHN&psc=1) as it's top CPU in it's 1060 tier.

On the other hand, Dishonored 2 recommends an i7-4770 as it's recommended CPU. On the other, other hand, I'm in no rush for the game (still need to beat the first one), and pre-release spec recommendations tend to be overblown apparently. There's also the fact that, according to Amazon, one of those i7-4770s costs around $400 alone (and that's around the price of my current wishlist under good conditions).

Can anyone give any suggestions?

In order to update to a properly-compatible CPU, I'll also need a Motherboard that can actually socket it. More than likely, said MoBo would probably have DDR4 slots.

Essentially, going back to complete my previous point, RAM sockets tend to be pretty specialized from what I heard. You can't fit DDR3 RAM in a DDR4 socket because the notches in the RAM won't fit the tabs in the socket.

Well, I'm an intel guy when it comes to processors just because that's what I've used in the past and I've never had any issues. The obvious choice of hardware at this very moment is the i5 6600k (for the overclocking if that interests you. Same logic applies as always that games don't really take advantage of I7 processors and unless you're doing a ton of rendering and video production you're wasting your money.

That said, Gen 7, or Kaby Lake is rumored to come out in January. Up to you how you want to handle it. There's always something new right around the corner and the difference between skylake and kaby lake is probably going to be maybe 10% which is the way it's been for a while.

When it comes to a mobo and RAM I see no reason to get too caught up in the details. Find a mobo on newegg with good reviews that supports skylake/kabylake and get some DDR4 that goes with it. There is little evidence that RAM of a higher speed provides more than a tiny percent of improvement so don't stress about that.

As for Dishonored and it's requirements, CPU reccomendations have been wildly inflated lately. Developers put i7 processors in there to cover their asses when really any decent i5 from the past few gens will run modern games just fine. I have an i5 4670k @ 4.0ghz paired with a 1070 and I have no reason to upgrade.

Side note, if you aren't running an SSD now sounds like as good a time as any to get that in your build as well. It's such a night and day difference having the OS on an SSD.

Edit: Something like this would be fine http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128841&ignorebbr=1

If this is about some of the stuff I've told you in that other thread, I was directed by a few folk to some benchmarks, and apparently the bottleneck isn't as bad as I learned with my own research. Now I dunno what to think. Maybe you found some of the same stuff I did, who knows. Apparently the performance difference is 1-3%. Tech is confusing. But hey, feel free to upgrade. I'll probably go Intel with the i5-4690 myself when the time comes

I need to upgrade for the sake of the likes of Dragon Ball Xenoverse, Saint Seiya: Soldier's Soul, and Skyrim (getting 30 fps max in Enderal for some reason) anyways, but thanks for the clarification.

Yeah sure! DDR4, Sata 3, USB 3.0... everything you could want.
