Arguably Nintendo's first real proper game for something not a nintendo device.

I gotta say, for a very simple concept, they managed to get a lot out of it. some of the level designs are really great here.

What is our judgement, Escapist?

I don't have an iPhone so I can't purchase it yet. I've seen a review of the thing and it looks pretty robust for what it is. I don't think I'm going to pick it up though since I'm the kind of person who still carries my 3DS with me wherever I go. It's true, I can't just replay NSMB and NSMB2 over and over again but when it comes to mobile games I've just never used the free ones enough to make me feel safe spending actual, real, money on one of the not-free ones.

Apparently you can download it for free but have to pay for the levels?

I am a little curious about this game, not so much for myself, but my son. He is autistic and loves Mario but just doesn't seem to be able to figure out using a controller, but is a wizard with touch screens. I would love to get it for him and see if he likes it, but not sure how the difficulty is in it.

I just played the first three levels, and it seems quite a lot more forgiving than the old school Mario games.

I think Nintendo should extend the free play side of things. Those three levels didn't come close to convincing me to fork out $15 for the rest of the game. It was fun, but I can't see the rest of the content being worth what they're asking.

my experince playing it is that it's really easy to play but hard to master. Theres a lot of replay value to it in that regard.
