Super Smash Bros 4: Captain Falcon, Chrom (kinda), Lucina, and Robin: Confirmed.

That was what was in the new video we were waiting for over this past weekend.

As you can see, it features Lucina dueling Captain Falcon, before newcomer Robin (the player character from Fire Emblem Awakening) joined the cast. It also showed Lucina fighting with Marth's moveset, confirming her to be a Marth alternate outfit. The end of the video not only also confirmed Chrom to possibly be the same thing but with Ike (performing Great Aether on a character while an allied Robin was spaming spells), but also confirmed Female Robin to be playable.

I can only assume that sucking noise is the collective assholes of every fan of fireemblem tightening at once, much like Megaman and Pacman fans did?

Edit: Looks like that was indeed Final Smashing on Robin's part, and not Chrom's inclusion. I done goofed. At least he got representation at all this time, I suppose. No sight of Roy.

At the end of the video, it seemed to show him doing Great Aether, while an allied Robin was spaming spells.

It did blatantly say, when Chrom said "I guess I'll get my chance later.", "No, you'll get your chance now. PS, play as Female Robin."

I'd have been significantly more hyped about this if I wasn't already entirely devoted to Lady Palutena... but I have a friend of mine who probably creamed himself several times already.

Edit: Nevermind; looks like I was wrong about Chrom. It took me a 3rd view to fully get what I was looking at in analyzing the Final Smash.

In Brawl, Wario has his new Warioware look, but can also be selected to use his original Wario outfit. 99.9995% sure that's the case with Lucina, Chrom, and Female Robin. So 3 characters.

The fact that Chrom didn't get a newcomer splash screen seems like he's going to be a alt for Lucina, or at least featured in Robin's final smash. We'll have to wait for POTDs for clarification.

That's because it IS from There Will Be Brawl!

Ha! I thought so! I remember that exact scene, too. That series was so good...

I feel odd now that I'm more psyched for the more obvious reveal. No chance in heck they aren't including the Captain this time, and yet knowing that I can Falcon punch in my spare time got me the bulk of my hype... though I do have some passing familiarity with Fire Emblem Awakening, so seeing Robin in action is interesting.

I am excited on one hand to get Robin and Lucina, but Chrom...I want to play as him too. ;_; Now I haven't given up some desperate hope that he is an alternate costume for Lucina, which only makes too much sense. If you are going to give us the option for a male Wii Fit trainer, but not make a fairly popular character like Chrom an alternate costume, that's just cruel Sakurai!

Well, how many Marth clones do you need? Are we building an army of blue-haired swordsmen? As others have said, we've already got female Marth (Lucina) and Ike.

Anyway, glad to hear Captain Falcon is back, though that was pretty much guaranteed.

With how Nintendo treats the poor Falcon nowadays, you can never be too careful. Hell the only one that shows him love is Sakurai, seeing as Miyamoto has no interest in the franchise anymore and apparently F-Zero GX is his least favorite F-Zero game. Something tells me he's just bitter that SEGA made a better F-Zero than he did.
In all seriousness though, with how pretty much Nintendo has been phasing out the stuff in F-Zero into other games, the only game keeping the Falcon and his franchise alive is Smash Bros now. Come on Nintendo, if you don't care about the F-Zero franchise then let SEGA make another one, or let SUMO give it a shot as Allstars Racing Transformed was great.

The poor fellow needs a new game, even Sakurai on a Miiverse post said something like "when are you getting a new game Captain Falcon?" That being said, he is one of the originals, I don't think he will ever not be included in Smash, even if F-Zero never gets a real new game.

When Nintendo essentially deconfirmed Chrom is NOT playable and that he simply showed on for the final smash.....oh the hilarity of it all, and with lucina being a female marth skin, robin is the only new challenger with captain falcon being confirmed for return.....although after checking the site on falcon his face looks a bit funny, like he looks TOO human.

I guess that's my fault for not ever playing Fire Emblem.
So 4 Fire Emblem characters? Seems a bit much, but on the other hand, Robin looks pretty sick. I am really glad that Sakurai went for more character unique systems like little Mac's K.O. and now this. I'm looking forward to see what'll come next.
