On a Faraway Galaxy...
Stars are exploding. As everyone knew they eventually would. Yet this is still a problem, for even though advanced cultures and the obscenely wealthy, knowing this well and in advance, made off and far away, the large unwashed masses of worlds orbiting red suns stayed behind, and only recently did hunger and environmental devastation turn so harsh that makeshift spacecraft and stolen pirate cruisers started to stumblingly lift off these doomed worlds.
The privileged of the galaxy, suddenly faced with the prospect of an unstoppable horde swooping in to sack and pillage their precious alien worlds, as indeed some already have, are now looking for solutions. The general consensus is that these planet-dwelling brutes know nothing of warfare, and are so politically immature that the mere assassination of their leaders should be enough to end the conquering barbarians.
This is where the assassins come in.
From all over the galaxy, out of a million worlds, mercenaries, robots, and other killers now gather in opulent space-mansions, talking with fat merchants and even nobility about the details of their contracts. A galactic manhunt has started for that handful of brave barbarian warriors, and the race is on.
Wait what?
Yes, welcome one and all to my first Escapist RP, and a free form one at that. There is really no rules, except one: the players make the setting. That is, all players post their characters, along with any significant backstory or details that are RELEVANT to your one (1) character. Call it an experiment in crowd writing. You should write just about thirteen lines, leaving no loose ends about your character but not "godmodding" anything else in any way.
Clear?
