Pretty much the title, what games have you played that had a reputation for being hard but you've found almost easy. For me I would have to say Psychonauts; the last level is a little tricky but everything else wasn't difficult and even the last level for me only took a couple tries.

The TMNT game for NES. Easy is a relative term, but I did better at it than Battletoads or Double Dragon.

Bloody Battletoads and that stupid stupid level it still annoys me now as for Double Dragon me and a friend used to complete that game every week on the NES I have tried it since and thought what the hell I used to breeze this game now its kicking my arse also not sure I found turtles easy but I remember finishing it without to much trouble except for that bloody underwater level bit.

Lately I dont think there have been many games I have found easy and others struggled with I know a lot of my friends found Bayonetta difficult on hard and Non Stop Infinite Climax mode but I never had any problem I actually much preferred hard mode which is unusual.

Before release, I heard that Dragon's Dogma was going to be one helluva tough time, what with all the huge monster battles and deep combat, but I didn't have much trouble with it. It was fun to be sure, but after 500+ hours of Dark Souls, and with 1800+ hours of Monster Hunter under my belt, it didn't put up much of a fight.

I heard people say that original Contra is impossible without the konami code. I haven't beaten it yet but I can get pretty far without it.

Also I seem to have talent for multiplayer FPS games and I can get good at them rather quickly, however they usually start to bore me just when I start getting really good at them.

I agree, without the 500+ hours of Dark Souls (didn't have it yet). Dragon's Dogma was only really hard for me when I start a new character and every goblin takes 5 fireballs to kill, but once I was in the swing of it, even my first playthrough saw me killing drakes and chimera before I probably should have been and switching from warrior to sorceror to mystic knight with no heed to stat progression. Then I get to the online Ur-Dragon and find if I wasn't minmaxing the whole time I have no chance of landing the finishing blow or even doing visible damage, but I don't think that counts.

I only killed the online UR-Dragon once, and because I was obsessed with getting the kill so much that I resorted to accessing the Facebook page for tracking the damn thing's health on PS3. By that time, my character was pretty much one-shotting most critters.
Honestly, I dislike the online variant of the fight, because it is essentially set up so that the only people who can kill it are veterans who kill it every week, or min/maxing pros who start building a character from day 1 with the sole purpose of squashing the big lizard. Newbies like myself have little to no chance of killing it, especially after so much time has elapsed, making it virtually indestructible.

I was going to say "Ya Mum" but that seems a little insensitive. But no I've never played a game that was pitched as hard only to find it easy... I suck.

It would have to be Dark Souls for me(And I guess Demon Souls by extension).

Not that it's an easy game by any stretch just that it's reputation suggested it to be all but impenetrable to non but the most hardcore of gamers out there of which I most certainly don't fall under.

Deus Ex : HR on "give me deus ex "difficulty , on my first playthrough . I think i game too much, there was nothing hard about that , for me .

Also zelda 2 . While it's not the easiest of games , it wasn't THAT hard . But compared to the rest of the series it's the hardest.

Ninja Gaiden 2. I was lead to believe it was one of the hardest games. I breezed through it pretty quickly. I can't remember anything being particularly challenging since I had a variety of weapons to deal with any situation. Even the final boss only took 2 or 3 tries.

Dark Souls. Part of the reason I hate the game was due to its praise for bein difficult. It's not, it's just cheap.

Bayonetta. Okay so I got my ass kicked the first time I played it but I now I can't play it on anything except the hardest difficulty. Unlike DS, this game does difficulty properly.

Also: everyone knows his mum is quite easy...
I kid, I kid
Lion King for SNES is supposed to be hard. I completed that in an afternoon and I only got stuck at one point because I didn't know what to do.

Ninja Gaiden Black was a fun, breezy romp through some interesting locales, and only the final boss presented any kind of challenge. Dark Souls was hard, but a lot easier than I'd come to expect from its reputation. Psychonauts was also pretty damn easy, and I have no idea why people whine about the last level.

Dark Souls, it was a little tricky at first but once you become familiar with the game and can devise strategies, it becomes pretty easy. Its really nowhere near as difficult as people make it out to be.

Dark Souls for me. It's not 'easy', but it's not brutally hard like the rumours in the beginning were telling me. It's just 'challenging'. Dying stupendously often doesn't make it hard because that's literally part of the game. The sub title for dark souls isn't 'prepare to die' for nothing.

I don't find the original Ninja Gaiden on NES very hard. I got through the first three levels without dying the first time I played it.

Yeah, same for me. Wasn't anywhere near as difficult as people had told me it was. Still a good game though.

Sigma 2 is where the Ninja Gaiden 'omg it's hard' difficulty is at. The story mode on the normal and hard difficulties is easy enough, it's the online missions where it gets interesting.

I'd heard Bayonetta was meant to be difficult but had no real problems with it apart from the very, very last bit. After you kill the last boss and have to do the QTE type bit with the planets. Jesus! That took so many tries and a broken ps3 controller!
