I have an idea for a game and, I intend to make it eventually. but as far as design its still just an idea here it is.
You are a survivor after the apocolypse, its been less than six months since [somthing] happend for the sake of agument
at this point well say some massive pandemic. You are the olny survivor you're aware of. You lost wherever it was you were staying.
A natural disaster distroyed it or it became unsafe to stay there for some reason, what have you.
Its the hight of winter, and its been a really harsh winter, big blizzards and and 2 story snowdrifts are common. All you have on you are warm cloths and enough food a water to last maybe 3 days. The area your in was a suberb with a small airport. Small is in not likly to have a helicopter. Sevral motels, hotels and, apartment buildings. there are suplies all over and many things you can utilize in order to survive.
YOU ARE ALONE.
So why did I bother wtiting all this for everyone to see? well... I Want to see where people will go with it, what they will do with that kind of freedom. So given the opertunity to do anything in an empty snowbound world with olny the simplest goal, what would you do?

Wander around in vain trying to find something to kill like in most other games, then die.

First, if no one else has said this yet, welcome to the Escapist!

Second, probably try try to forage for food and basically try to survive the winter, holding up in some home in the suburb. After spring comes, head south and try to find somewhere more hospitable.

I would try and find a hospital to stay in. If I somehow became sick I could use the medicine there ti help cure me. Most hospitals carry vending machines, which would be good for stocking up on food. Yes, most of the food would be spoiled but I am sure there would most likely be bottled water in a hospital.

Light a fire for warmth, raid shops for food and if their are any dogs around try to befriend one for the authentic 'lone wanderer feel"

I would add a goal other than just survive, like trying to find out what happened or looking for other survivors.

I live in Queensland so I could just sit on the beach and survive off coconuts and convienience store items.

well, lets look at this from a diffrent perspective, no one would say, look for other survivors or try to find out the cause of what happend. try to travle out of the city or into it? perhaps theres more to this sort of thing than meets the eye.
I said you are alone but I ment you start out that way are you optimistic? pesimistic? Do you have any long term plans? say spring never comes? what then? theese are some of the things me and one of my friens thought of, I'm sure you can be more creative than
"Go somewhere and survive until unable then go somewhere else. repeat."

I think if you woke up in a post pandemic world seemingly bereft of all other human life you'd have a hard time being optimistic.
The lone survivor idea is neat but it has been done to death so you need some original or unexpected angle on this premise, also remember that any story about an apocalyptic sole survivor cannot be solely about this character. It would become incredibly boring and tedious without that character interacting with something or someone else in a very human way, thik about how Robert Neville humanises and interacts with his dog Sam or how Tom Hanks personifies a football. You could just have the main character talking to the voices in his head as he slowly desceds into isolation induced pyschoses but you have to have something or someone else to interact with the main character, real or imagined.

It sounds like a thoroughly interesting idea with but one massive glaring flaw.
What would you do for the end of the game? The female or male protagonist finds civilization? Freezes to death regardless of their efforts through the game? The game ends without any resolution?
What?

Die after 3 days when i run out of food, me and Mother Earth dont get along very well.

I suppose id try and find new survivors who knew what they were doing for a while untill i die.

Needs some form of push or hint at story, even if it's really subtle for example you leave a group of notes around that hint at what happened, more survivors or imminent danger the overall story doesn't have to be glaring and the emphasis can still be on survival over it. Sounds like an interesting idea though and I like it

I would gather food, clothing, and defences and then build a barricade in an enclosed area to hold out overnight and then think from there.
