Swat Kats got name dropped in the comments for this week's Big Picture. Does anyone else remember that show? It was particularly well done, especially for it's time and genre I think.

I remember how the tech advanced as the series progressed, they added and kept additional systems and vehicles through the rest of the series. By the time the alien invasion hit, they had some really cool additions. I don't really recall many series keeping things like that, let alone adding so many. It really had a nice sense of 'leveling up' for the characters and their abilities.

I use to make Lego versions of the jet and other vehicles back in the day too. Good times.

It was a pretty cool show, but I've never been one for the anthropomorphic animal cartoon genre. It's just always kind of creeped me out. Guess I knew I wasn't a furry at a very young age.

There were some exceptions of course, like Looney Toons, Animanics, and other comedy things, but once the animals were doing something serious I was pretty much out.

Whaaaaa, nostalgia alert! Yup, liked that one. I also always kept forgetting which one is which one. And, having re-watched them recently, I can say they seem to have aged well, even if the characterization might be a little one-dimensional with certain characters.

That show was awesome. It was also one of the very few cartoons that had violence as in cannon fodder and off sceen death. I mean when those airplane get destroyed, it usualyl the pilot eject to safty but nope not them!
