Swearing?

Hiya escapists.

I feel like having a look at cultural differences (and just making a light-hearted thread), so here's what I want to know:

Where do you live (you don't need to be specific), and when was the last time you swore (perhaps also why you did it, if you can remember)? Feel free to add when the last time you heard various family members and/or friends swear was, if you want to provide a more varied sample.

Me? Live in Norway, and the last time I swore was at school today while writing a short story (I think. I mean, it's not like I'm particularly careful about keeping track ^.^'). It was just out of annoyance I think.
The last time my dad swore was at dinner today [sub]Yes, that's why I'm making the thread[/sub]
It was just to put emphasis on, uhhh... something. I can't remember.

As for my mother, I can't remember; so I'm just going to take a guess, and say a week ago.

To add some discussion, you may throw in what you think about swearing in general as well.
Personally, I think it's rather stupid that some words are "off limits", but I appreciate that they are there, because it's fun to have some taboos to break.

And don't go over board with the swearing, people. I don't want to be suspended o_o'

Well, I'm from Sweden and we swear in pretty much ever other sentence. The last time I swore was a few minutes ago while writing a message to my sister.
My sister swears extremly rarely, and the same goes for my mother, but sometimes they let one out!

I don't think much about swearing. It's part of my language!

I swore about 30 seconds ago when Kickass froze up on my laptop for no reason.
Can't remember when I last heard my parents swear as it's been a while since I have seen them.
My answer would probably always be about 30 seconds ago any, I swear quite a fucking bit!

EDIT: As if to prove my point I just told the captcha to fuck off. Captcha Error?! Try giving me real words, might make things a bit easier!

I live in Wales, I hear swearing quite often when in public.

I do swear quite often, not for the sake of it though, but pretty much always when I'm pissed(lol) off and stuff like that, it does slip out a lot more when I'm just around friends, though.

I dunno about the off limits thing, I can understand why as they're uaually meant in an offensive/insulting mannor.

I'm from Norrbotten, Sweden and I can't remember when the last time I swore was, which is odd because people up here tend to swear a lot, myself included.

Last time I swore: About an hour ago when I found that tonight I get to babysit my mom's friend's annoying-as-hell grandson.

My mom: The other day when she stubbed her bad toe.

My dad: Don't recall. Its a rarity when he does, but I know I've heard him swear once at least.

My opinion: I think its dumb that people are over sensitive to certain words. I can understand being upset over a racial slur used to offend some one, but normal swear words are harmless. Its a word and thats all it should ever be.

I live in the 'mericas, Washington state to be specific. The last time I swore was last night. I said "crap" to the TV while I was playing Persona 3 FES (I think it was just before I went to rescue Fuuka, and that strange boy with the blue eyes popped up and warned about... something I already knew about. I think I remarked "What the crap was that? You just told something I already knew!", or something along those lines). "Crap" is the strongest swear word I use (unless you count fictional swear words like "frak", "frell", or "smeg"). My father never swears, and neither does my sister. My brother also says "Crap" occasionally. My mother swears far more often than all of us, though I cannot remember the last time she swore. The strongest word she uses is "shit".

I'm from Scotland, and swearing is actually more or less part of our culture. I swear all the time in my everyday speech, as does my mum.

Crazy stuff.

I swear a lot and frequently in conversations with friends and enjoy being creative with it, however I also enjoy incomprehensible shouting of curses when particularly frustrated (like an endless loop of "fuck" and "bastard").

What's more I put "women that casually swear" in the things that turn you on thread.

I fucking love it.

The UK, and there was a loud exclamation of "BOLLOCKS!" when I stubbed my toe on the bathroom door a few minutes ago. Before that, I muttered "Where the fuck am I going?" under my breath, after climbing too many floors on the stairs, and there was some reference to a "fucker on the bike" who nearly ran me down outside the house, so that's the last five minutes.

I swear a lot, largely at myself and my computer, and quite a lot less in actual conversation, but I feel absolutely no shame in littering my speech with expletives... I just use them in context.

I last swore a minute ago when I dropped my keyboard and spazzed Chrome out. I'd just got halfway though replying to this thread at the time.

Generally I swear frequently, either for emphasis, punctuation, or merely shits and giggles.

One caveat, however, in what is considered 'polite society' I tend to keep my mouth out of the gutter for the most part.

Fucksquatch

Edit - Forgot to mention, I'm a northern monkey.

That's the North of England, for those of you not from these parts...

Edit 2: Electric Bugaloo - Most if not all of my friends tend to swear like dockers.

U.S.A. for me and I swear every day. From just watching the news, to seeing someone on TV do something so stupid that all I can say is "what the fuck is wrong with you", to getting angry at someone playing online, or I really like what I just saw like watching Top Gear test drive the Zonda R.

I currently have bronchitis, so I've been swearing like a sailor between coughing fits.
EDIT: Oops, forgot to mention I'm from Canada, Ontario.
