If you don't want to read backstory skip to second paragraph.
Three years ago, this October, I got my first computer. It was a practically brand new, low end Dell 'Home Basic' laptop. By the summer of that year, it was close to dead. It was the first computer I'd ever used that didn't get upkeep by its actual owners. (My parents.) It was so damaged from viruses that even when the system was "fixed" it only got worse. I had little to no knowledge of what to do at the time, so now it's a lost cause. During its death rattle I began to search for new computers, I had learned to love PC gaming but was held back by the hardware of the laptop. I had gotten it through the most litteral meaning of inheritance, so I had no choice in the computer. When searching I was looking at higher-end gaming models, and when my friend eventually convinced to get a Mac, it was even easier to justify the price. Anyway, I have been growing unhappy with my Macbook Pro for a while now, and some time in the future will be building a desktop with the help of my friend.
Anyway, I am going to be changing early, I want to use boot camp. I have everything I need, I just have a few questions.
1.How should I transfer files to the Windows partition? I want to use the Windows OS primarily, so I don't want to constantly change between both of them. I have an external HD, so I can spend a lot of time transferring everything from OS X to EHD to Windows if that's the only way
2.I hope to over time move all my files to the Windows partition, when I do build the desktop can I migrate my computer (Windows partition) to the desktop?
3.I have another external hard drive that I use for Time Machine, until I migrate all my files to the desktop, I want to keep the Mac data, and backups. Can I use the Time Machine HD to back up Windows as well? If not is there a work around?
Thanks a lot!
