I never really watched much TV aside from The History Channel and The Military Channel.

I'll throw it on Adult Swim every now and then, and FX in the Fall for Sons of Anarchy.

Back in the 90's i miss when Cartoons had no political correctness and no one really tried that hard to pander to the kiddies.

There are way too many shows to mention. My post would literally explode if I named them all....so...I'll name a few AND the ones I'll be watching come Fall:

Lost-The entire last season was an ungodly abomination, but I'm still going to miss this odd little gem.

Pushing Daisies- Died too soon.

Firefly-Died too soon.

Invader Zim-Died too soon.

I'm planning on watching Chuck and The Walking Dead this Fall, but aside from that, T.V. is full of "Midget Puncher IV: More Midgets" and "Sluttyskank: True Love" A.K.A. reality shows. I can't wait for the inevitable "Snooki" spin-off. It'll be called "Snooki: Do I Look Like Yoshi?"

You're complaining that TV sucks, and yet all you are watching is Tosh.O.

Yup, I think I found the problem.
It's called "lack of variety".

I like TV today, but I only watch specific shows. Like Burn Notice, NCIS, Bones and Castle. But other than that, I don't watch any TV.

Television of the modern era is light years ahead of what they had in 50s and 60s.

You have a ton of options and thanks to cable and premium channels the boundaries have been pushed much farther than tv use to allow. When I think of my favorite all time films, I have a mix through out the past 100 years, television is almost all 90s and 00s.

Dexter, Breaking Bad, Life (old), The Sopranos (old) Deadwood (old), The Wire (old), Alias (old), Buffy (old), West Wing (old and only the Sorkin ones), How I met your Mother (my wife likes it more than me but I don't think it sucks) are just a couple of the reasons TV is actually better than the film industry these days.

Good work on the first two, I'll add to it:

Nurse Jackie (40% sociopath /60% saint of a main character. It works)
Walking Dead (It's Coming!!!)
Mad Men (A show about advertising that is fantastic. Yeah)
True Blood (It's like Vampire: The Masquerade in TV form. Only not crappy this time)
Castle (I dress up as a Space Cowboy for halloween! -Dad, you know there aren't any cows in space right?)

There, 7 good shows that are on TV now, OP.

Also, speaking to another of the 5 other human beings who like Sorkin, I'll ask you what I've asked the others: Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip: Sorkin's Great show, or Greatest show?

Well as bad as some TV is there are shows on that I like to watch. For example Chuck is very good and I have gotten quite a few people hooked on it (including my math teacher). Also Castle, The Big Bang Theory, I like it but I never have time to watch House, I don't know if it's still doing new episodes but Criminal Minds is a good show. Those shows aside I am very excited for Game of Thrones, I have made it my mission in life to get as many people hooked on the books and spread the news of the show to all corners of the internets.

Well I have a man-crush on a certain foulmouthed saloon owner so I can't say it is the Greatest Show, sorry.

I'm just thankfull they still play some of the good old stuff. Yes, I am sick of the new shows being crapped out. Like the reality shows, the teeny bopping shows, etc. Hopefully it will die... and hopefully soon.

This my friends, is why I buy DvD's of the shows I do like, and watch them on my PC :p
