We all have that one game.
That game that just pushed us to the edge... and then pushed us even further. Wether you redecorated your room with shards of controller, put your foot through your TV or simply stomped, grimacing, down to the gameshop to hear the salesperson's excuse for letting you walk out of there with that timebomb under your arm.
This fury can be unleashed for a miriad of reasons and to get the ball rolling I will start.
For me that game was the Thor movie tie-in on PS3 and here is my condensed tale. As soon as I loaded it up the graphics had my eyeballs convulsing in agony. Now don't take me for a man who puts graphics before gameplay, but you do notice. Nontheless my thumb slowly descended onto the start button. I begrudgingly accepted the minimal story line and proceeded into the game. The controls were awkward and delayed (especially irritating when you consistently fall into chasms when Thor decides not to jump), the combos minimal and inconsequential. However I'd paid money for this game and I was going to push on through dull setting after dull setting, fighting boring enemies and finding respite in the occasional cool grapple. Hours and hours of frustration later and I finally came to the gamestopper. A particularly awkward boss. After failing and reloading time and time again I finally managed to get to the final grapple with a slither of health. It was a long QTE and I managed to barely keep up until about the third section where I messed up, died and was forced to restart the whole fight.
I calmly ejected the disc, put it back into the case, went downstairs and grabbed a hammer, making my way into the garden. There I smashed the game until there was little left. I thought "Screw the money, you will never hurt anyone ever again.".
Whatever the reason, I want to hear your tale along with the game that pushed you until it saw your dark side.
The more epic the better.
