My friends find me weird . Everytime i go to their homes and ask for somethinf to drink they always say water . Now while i have nothing against water in general, i will never ever drink tap water ( except in extreme cases obviously ). They say i'm difficult , especially since the tap water where i live ( montreal , Quebec )is apparently of pretty good quality . Despite that , i always prefered bottled water , than that from the tap .

So my question to you escapists is : Do you drink tap water?

And as a bonus question: Is there tap water where you love considered good

Do I drink tap water? Yep. Is the water where I live considered good? Yep. I'm not a fan of bottled water. I don't think it's necessarily higher quality.

Yes I drink tap water all the time. I have a 1 litre bottle by my computer that I refill throughout the day. I don't drink bottled water all that much as I find it a bit of a waste of money because I find tap water just as good.

Not in Arizona. Water is hard and have a nasty chemical taste. Thought about getting a filter pitcher but I dunno if it helps or not.

I usually have no problems drinking tap water, often it's a laziness thing. I have my glass, the kitchen is downstairs, I am upstairs, and there is a perfectly acceptable source of water from the bathroom sink which is also upstairs. Will it be as cold and crisp as the water from my Britta pitcher? No, but that doesn't matter much to me.

Unless the water coming from my tap is absolutely disgusting (and truthfully I have pretty low standards when it comes to this, so long as it doesn't taste like warm metal) I will drink it.

I have to carry a water bottle with me at work. Usually at the beginning of the week I do grab a bottled water from the fridge, once that's empty, I just fill it up with water from the water fountain at work, and I use that same battle throughout the week. It's cheaper and easier for me.

Same here, my friends think I'm weird too.
It makes me feel quite sick actually, I don't know if that's just because of where I live but I don't like it.

I usually buy flavoured water and keep it in the fridge, I love it when it's really cold.

No problem with tap water. Don't know why taps are specifically labelled as "drinking water" (I've never had any problems drinking directly from a tap in this country). Though if you come from a more developed country you're generally advised against drinking tap water when you go abroad to less developed countries.

It's just being difficult to not want to drink tap water if you can though. Bottled water is more expensive, harder to get, more of a hassle, etc.

I used to live in an area that did have really bad tap water, a Britta filter is a huge help. I personally recommend the pitcher over something like the direct attachment to the sink thing.

So yeah, if your tap water isn't very good, I'd consider investing in one. They're a huge help.

I basically always drink tap water. The water in my area is fine, and bottled water is such a huge waste of money (unless of course tap water is undrinkable for whatever reason, which does happen).

Yes, I drink tap water, but after I filter and boil it first. The water in my area isn't bad or anything, but I've just learned not to trust tap water anywhere.

As far as bottled water goes, I hate it. It always has this little bit of a plastic aftertaste that I just can't stand, so I much prefer my tap water over it.

Our tap water here in Florida is considered by everyone I know to be considered good, however, I don't much care for any non filtered water because for me it often seems to have an off putting "earthy" taste.. Doesn't seem to bother anyone else though. For plain water I'll just get it from the refrigerator since it comes out filtered and cooled. Most of my pure water intake is in bottled flavored water form though. I've been greatly reducing my soft drink intake and drinking water instead. Since I don't like the flavor of water (unless I'm really thirsty) then the flavored water is the only way I can get it down in large amounts.

I know a guy (I'm well aware of how meaningless that claim to authority is on the internet) who worked as a chemist for one of the big companies ( you know the ones, who somehow seem to make everything and secretly own all the 'competing' brands) and he says that, at least in his day, bottled water has more crap in it than tap water.

Yes but in saying so I drink bottle water more than tap water these days. I guess my parent are fed up on me using the tap water (since tehy buy me the packet of bottle water).

Since I'm from Wales, the water here is consider to be good (from the country side and natural water resource per say) well coming from my brother opinion seeing that he is from London.

Yeah, of course.

I live in an area with good water.

Most of it it treated with fluoride though, which is a little controversial but it doesn't bother me.

If someone came to my house, asked for water and then told me they only drank bottled water, I'd think they were a bit of a wanker. I mean, it's just tap water.

I love tap water, I can drink pints of it a time if I am thirsty enough. I don't really drink that many fizzy drinks and I'm far too lazy to brew a decent cup of tea or coffee, so water it is.

When I used to live in Lincolnshire, the water was lovely especially when its really cold. But since I moved to Northampton I can't say I rate the water that highly, it has quite a unpleasant/bitter taste to it. Annoying thing is I go back to Lincolnshire now and the water tastes funny.

Are you bolding and italicising your posts for a reason?

Other than to inadvertently make me burst out in hives, I mean :D

OT: Yup, drink it all the time. Probably why toe government can easily manipulate my mind, what with tall the fluoride and what not.

I do drink tap water, although I usually prefer the bottled, carbonated stuff, which seems to be a typically european thing. Water quality in my area is very good.

I don't anymore unless I run it through my filter.

You can taste the purification chemicals in the water here. It's disgusting.

Back home, we had well water. Loved the stuff. Some dick next door however drilled 6 new wells and struck sulfur packets all 6 times, so we drink bottled water there too now. At least for a year or so more.

Blame it on too much comic books when I was a little kid. And a teenager. And an adult. And probably also when I become a senior citizen.
