I've got TF2 on the Xbox, and it's one of me favorite games, but it's in severe need of updates so it's up to date with the computer version of TF2 that my friend is always bragging about. I read on Wikipedia that they're working on updates for the Xbox version, but has anyone heard when they're due to be released?

Nope, I think it is Microsoft's problem, because Valve wants free updates, Microsoft wants updates that cost MSP. So, yeah... buy the PC version if you want updates.

At least as long as all the other class updates are going to take for PC.

So only 3 left...

Unfortunately, my dad's racist against windows computers. Which brings up another question, why doesn't Valve develop for Mac? Aspyr and Blizzard get along well developing for them.

So there hasn't been any date announced? Dang. :p

Odds are they'll optimize it for the 360 once they finish all the class updates for PC.
And again, Odds are Microsoft will put a price tag on it and make money off of someone else's work.

Valve probably doesn't develop for macs because there are so many more Windows owners over Mac owners, and they don't think that it would be practical to recode everything to work on a Mac.
Or maybe the aliens told them not too, idk.

I don't think they have a date set. It's more of a "we're working on it" thing with Valve. Like how they're working on episode 3.... don't expect results any time soon.

Do what I'm doing; trade in the console version for the PC version. Otherwise you have to wait for them to update all the classes (3 left).

Hopefully it'll be more like how they're working on L4D2. ;P

How often are the class updates? Looks like every 2 months? Ouch.

Then how'd you get an XBox?
Consoles and computers are separate to him. He also complains about keeping up with the computer gaming scene, with new video cards and all that.

I think it's due to memory constraints; one update for the 360 takes less data than at least 9 (allowing for non-class specific updates).

I doubt pricing is an issue. After all, L4D by Valve had the free survival pack.

You might as well buy the PC version instead, or just wait it out.
Although to be fair, more people enjoy the original weapons than the new one for competitive play, but the new maps would be nice.

Be a grown man and dual-box.

I deleted 4 OSes without my dad knowing it, two of them by an accident, and he didn't even care when I finally told him.

Well, according to Wikipedia, Microsoft wanted them to cost money, so Valve's bundling them together to justify the price.
