Ugh. Left in the dust again. This might just be me going crazy, but, yes we were left in the dust.
A great sequel (in my opinion) comes out not only for its origin system, PC, but for consoles as well... Not having the greatest rig of a comp myself, I bought the console version. I trekked through everything the 360 version had to offer and found myself enjoying it more and more as each day went on. It has since reached the status of one of my favorite games, but something is lacking, something... new.
I have heard rumors of how the creators behind TF have promised many a time new releases for the games, new updates, and even a new game... The current sequel... Which was delayed for years on end.

I guess I'm just wondering two things: Is this the consoles turn to pay the price for the wait that the original purchasers did on PC? and Has ANYONE heard any RELIABLE (yes I did say reliable) news regarding a potential map pack, update, tweak to the game, slight adjustment, new taunt pack, new weapon pack, really ANYTHING regarding a refreshing addition to my beloved console version of Team Fortress II?

I've long since given up research, hoping, and listening to the rumors passed around both forums and XBL... Escapist members, please, give me anything credible.

Get it on the PC. There's plenty of updates- including achievements and unlockable equipment, being added via FREE updates.

I don't think the console versions get any of it, maybe the mappacks.

Aha but see, getting it for the PC would require me to buy one that runs well... I'm a console gamer for a reason at this point. Myself + TFII on PC= Boredom. WHy you ask? Cuz I have none! Just a modest laptop that I love as my own child...

The big downside to Team Fortress 2 on the PC is the HORRIBLE load times.
You aren't missing much... on the 360 version, its pretty bad too

I feel you, man. I can't run the PC version of TF2 either, and it's a shame, because I love the game to death.

Everything I've heard from Steam indicates that recent updates are coming this Fall, and that the reason it's taken so long is that Microsoft insists that they charge for extra content, when it's Steam's policy to release extra content for free. Bit of a legal struggle, I understand.

I feel like I'm missing out. I play a Medic primarily... Sure would be nice to have Kritzkrieg for those deadly Spy encounters I seem to find myself in so much.

Valve has said they want map packs to stay free for consoles (Clicky) however I haven't heard any word about the class packs yet. You'd hope those would be free (if they come at all), otherwise they're going to get the whole Battlefield: Bad Company scenario again.

valve fixed it so it's alot more bearable, before I'd wait 15 minutes for 1 map to load thankfully that's bin fixed

but anything valve makes should be enjoyed on the PC. they update often, we get cool shit like new maps game modes and weapons (if i'm not mistaken 360 owners have not gotten any of the class updates) and tons of user created junk.

Good point... I'm looking to invest in a new pc soon... So I'll definitely pick it up... It's just saddening to me that I read articles from eurogamer and other mags that state that valve will release the packs for 360 and ps3 and they just never deliver...
