TFC is Team Fortress 1. The chances of there being a new Team Fortress is the one thing less likely than Episode 3 coming out.

Let me give you the rundown on the order and naming of the Team Fortress series:

Quake Team Fortress (1996) - the original mod for Quake.

Team Fortress (1999) - mod for Half-Life 1 that was later sold commercially. It was officially renamed "Team Fortress Classic" (TFC) in anticipation for Team Fortress 2's release. Also known as "Team Fortress 1.5" in some circles.

Team Fortress 2 (2007) - The current iteration of the series, and the only one that didn't start out as a third-party mod.

Given that TF2 recently went F2P and Valve has stated that more updates are on the way, it's doubtful that there will be another Team Fortress game any time soon.
