Seriously. I love what they're doing with the new Alien game (Isolation), and if it ends up being shit, I will be depressed for at least a week. BUT with that said, I want a TellTale style game. A game that focuses on decisions with no right or wrong answer and multiple paths that bring on even harder and completely different choices that then transforms who survives at the end with you or if you even survived. That's all I ask for.

I think you have a point. The closest thing I can think of comes from 11 years ago, The Thing [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Thing_(video_game)] video game. It was from the original Xbox/PS2 era. Certain choices would have unforeseen effects on your team members. I always meant to play it, but always managed to forget about it somehow.

Uhh... is Telltale known for that?

The way the Walking Dead played out was essentially set in stone. Just about everything eventually comes to the same end no matter what you choose.

As much as i love telltale, i don't think their art style would fit the alien universe. Honestly, comic style aliens just don't jive with me at all.

Nope, don't see that as being good, with the direction they are going now, give it to Frictional Games. They could make it right, despite handing Amnesia over to The Chinese Room... Still a bitter taste after that.

Shameless bump of my thread that's nearly a year old. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.402465-What-if-Telltale-made-a-Walking-Dead-esque-The-Thing-game] And yup, someone mentions that Telltale could do Alien. As much as I'd love to see a video-game of your description where choices open up new paths, I don't think many devs/publishers have the budget to make it a reality. Which is why I pursue visual novels n____n

But everybody ends up dying anyway, Dave. Why would I care for the characters if they all end up dying, Dave? What would motivate me to invest my emotions on people who will die no matter what, Dave?

I actually quite liked what The Chinese Room did with Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs. But I didn't play it. I watched half of a let's play before I wussed out, so what do I know...

I don't know, I suggest watching Spoony's review of it first before you make a conclusion.

Hell no, Telltale is good with scripts and thats about it. There is barely any choice in them, I still like their games but all they end up being are basicly TV shows where you can choose the attitude, and to a smaller degree personality, of the main character.

I dont see what the Alien franchise has to do with any of that, I think there are way better studios suited to make an Alien game.

Hahaha it was just a joke, you shouldn't post in old threads like mine; I just wanted to gloat c;

SEGA at this point is a bit dubious with quality though. A:CM 2013, never forget ;.;

Ehh... I guess there are, but I wouldn't know any. I think TellTale is a great studio for Alien because if there is one thing that is missing from The Alien games in the past generation (ignoring Infestation) it's good writing. That's been gone, so I'll take some fucking good writing to a game if the past 6 years of writing have abysmal. Not to mention they wouldn't pull the same trick of non-choice two times in a row, would they?

True, but I don't blame Sega for that, I blame the fucking atrocious managing that went on @Gearbox that was SO FUCKING SHADY that I would have been okay with Sega suing the shit out of Gearbox.

I get that writting is also important in a game but we still dont even have an Alien game with good gameplay (well, there are those Alien VS Predator games but those are way too action heavy and closer to the movie Aliens).

And Telltale really isnt that good in gameplay, at all. For now lets have hope that the new Alien game does deliver on its promise, after that I wouldnt mind having Telltale just working on the writting of the next project. We still dont have a game that nails the "you are being hunted by something and must survive" that doesnt relly in a gimmick that gets old very fast (Slender and its clones as those games never gave the option to survive properly) so untill that I think we should just focus on the gameplay (a Telltale Alien game wont satisfy what most of us want out of an Alien game).

Yeah, I would never give advice on something I've never tried, which is why I recently bought it to find out for myself. Worth $4.50 $8 (forgot shipping) for the price of curiosity I think. Man, I'm going to be ticked off if it's more tense than Dead Space. Then again, Dead Space is all jump scares

I would say check Pawn Shops first, they might have it. Of course if you're not in an area that has decent pawn shops then I say order it but I've actually seen that game at a few local ones here for a decent price (under $8).

So you played it then? I imagine it's going to have the boxy modeling of, say, No One Lives Forever or maybe Operation Flashpoint.

*EDIT* Sorry, I tend to derail threads. More to your original point, I was just reading about a Borderlands game [http://kotaku.com/new-borderlands-game-coming-from-telltale-makers-of-th-1478745808] being made by Telltale Games, so if they can pull that off, they surely can pull off an Alien game.
