I might think the idea was a lot cooler, if we hadn't been seeing the same basic self-aware/self-mocking anime since "Project A-ko". New spin on doing the same thing so to speak.
Those criticisms are also why I am increasingly less interested in Anime, as I see more of it, the stereotypes and re-treads sink in, combined with the general shoveling of very piece of garbage set to a cell onto the US market it seems.
