Why not just play 24/7 2Fort servers? I do that. Try out The Roost's 2Fort server. It's definitely my favorite place to play.

I've never gotten that. I can't guess why you would if you've bought the game. Well...I could guess, but I wouldn't know what I'd be talking about.

Example: It could be a malt-chestnut in your frameware that's confusing the notificationer.

But yeah it appears right before you click the ominous doors of team-choosing. Which don't matter 'cos I often get 'balanced' over to the losing team.

You're subject to the auto-balance whether or not you're a F2P-er. If you see the "teams are about to be rebalanced" warning, then the next person who dies (assuming they aren't a contributor to the server and therefore immune) will be moved to the other team. So you can avoid the action for a bit and wait for someone else to be moved.

Are you free of the other F2P restrictions? If so, try taking it up with Valve. They might be slow to respond, though. Such as they are...

Eurgh. Well, people make mistakes all the time. I'm not going to get worked up over it unless it starts happening to me on a regular basis, but I've never really had any startup problems with TF2, ever. Although, I haven't been able to see people's avatars quite often, until just recently.

They are listed here [http://www.teamfortress.com/freetoplay/faq.php], along with some other info that might be helpful. The restrictions really aren't bad unless you really are the kind of player who cares about hats and whatnot (I'm not). But if you paid for something, you're entitled to the benefits.
