Growing up I've found all my mates had at least one game they just couldnt beat for what ever reason, and I thought Id like to hear all of yours for me it was a close call between 2 games although the winner was chosen becuase I liked the game much more back then.

Runner up: Impossible Mission

The game I just couldn't beat back then and trying now still it kicks my arse has to be "The Terminator"

This game brought me much young gamer rage for a few reasons

* Unfair Challenge, You always had one or 2 on you at the same time and you spent so much time shooting!
* No Hit invincibility time, one mistake or enemy running into you could cost you 30% health no few seconds of invincibility
* Game has alot of slowdown, and I mean a lot! 4 people on the screen (you and 3 enemies) can drag the fps into what I estimate the 20's
* One Life - No Continues, You die... you start all over again given the above that's not easy xD
* Cant move and shoot, No run and gun or even jump and shoot at all so you do feel stiff as the Terminator with Rust xD
Since I couldn't be bothered to drag my old Sega Master System out of the storage room and hook it up to my PC I made this video with the emulator... and no none of the slow down you see is to do with the recording or my pc/emulator it is how the game acts xD

What game when growing up that you could never beat?

Not really a game, but a boss.
Specifically, Pufftos, the giant ass of a puffer fish, from Donkey Kong 64.

THe brightness on my TV was really low and I didn't know how to change it because I was like 6 or 7, so it was just me getting attacked by a giant blob of darkness while covered in darkness.

well that's easy: Warlock on the super nintendo. No matter how hard I tried i never got past the underground level. I was only 6 or 7 at the time though so maybe i was just too young.

If I could find it I might try it again but I lost it.

This game kept me busy for a very long time on the Master System, and I never did get very far with it. I can barely remember it now but I think I still loved it! =D

Mega Man 3.

My brother and I tried and tried.

I think only our dad could beat it.

Ghosts 'n Goblins on the Snes, seriously I can never get pass the first level what so ever. Also I never complete Super Castlevania IV and Super Turrican. I had to use level cheat to see the ending

I didn't beat many games growing up to be honest, I.. wasn't very good. My first console was a PS1 so it wasn't until pretty far into that gen I started being able to beat games. I always got stuck/bored/both towards the end. Without exaggerating it probably would be more efficient to make a list of games I did finish, and even then none of them were 100%s.

BattleToads. `` The fun rage you have given me.

Of course, most games back then were impossible to beat. It was something everyone expected when they got a game, to play it for fun (or a good score) and not to win.

Banjo-Kazooie. It was so hard for me for some reason. Then when I revisited the game a couple of weeks ago, I beat it in days...

I spent about a year when I was 9 trying to beat the game that accompanied LOTR: The Return of the King, and then I completed it in one sitting a few years later. I was not happy with 9-year-old me.

This! I've probably played that game over 100 times when I was a younger, and could never beat it. But of course my 6 year old sister can. -.-

Arcanum:OSWAMO because it was buggy and had so much replay value you wanted to start replaying it before it had finished. Probably not the idea of this thread, but I never play games that challenge me, because I do not find challenges to be fun. I play games to relax.
