Something we all must have done, had the TV on late on night and one station has got a late night film which no one actually ever knows or has forgotten about. However for you what has been that one late night film that was actually pretty good?

Mine was this morning actually, a murder/British comedy called Kind Hearts And Coronets from way back in 1949. Had Alec Guiness (that's Ben Kenobi...) playing 8 parts including a woman fighting for suffragette rights.

The last time I was sitting in front of the TV at about 3 am was for "Seven". I really really enjoyed it, it's really been years since I last saw it.

2001: A space oddyssey.
TCM is awesome.

It's not like I didn't know that it existed, I just hadn't seen it before because I couldn't find it in stores.

Hot Fuzz. I didn't know it was made by the same guys as Shaun of the Dead when I first watched it, and was pleasantly surprised. It turned out to be awesome, although it made me a little paranoid about going to bed that night.

No idea what it was called or the plot as it was a while ago.
It was an ancient movie on the horror channel one night that was so funny!

It was about these large mutated rats but in the movie they were actually just dogs with stupid looking tails stuck to them, the effects were terrible.
The rats had trapped these survivors in a cabin and they escaped by turning metal bins upside down and tying them all together, then each person put a bin over their head and they all walked out sort of like a bin-turtle thing. They walked out into the sea and the rats followed them and drowned, while the people then swam off.

It was so bad it was funny! I actually saw the dvd in a pound shop over haloween but never bought it.

I stayed up to watch Evil Dead. One of the best nights of my life!

I did it again for You, Me, and Everyone We Know. Also a good one.

I watched a film called 'Quills', all about the Marquis de Sade and his time in an asylum. It was a very good dark comedy, and quite disturbing. I suggest movie lovers give it a shot.

I watched something called "Black Sheep", when I thought I'd be watching the Chris Farley movie again. It was actually like, a bunch of Australians killing zombies and zombie sheep. It was messed up, in an awesome sort of way.

Oh, and Black Dynamite, the greatest film ever conceived.

Bound! At first I thought it was a typical late night movie involving two women and was going to flick it over, but then I realised it was actually pretty good, and then I was thoroughly unsurprised at who it was made by at the end of it.

Good-Time Slim, Uncle Doobie, and the Great 'Frisco Freak-Out'

Okay, so that film doesn't actually exist (I will be surprised is anyone actual gets the reference).

Faster Pussycat Kill! Kill! fits into this category. That is an awesome movie. I saw it several years ago late at night.

This was how I found "I'm A Cyborg, But It's Ok" which I really, really enjoyed :) It was just that kind of wacky that I really appreciated at 3am.

pandorum, a movie I thought I would hate, but ended up really liking it, along with 3/4 critics who went to see it apparently

Fight Club.

Love it. The book is also amazing, recommend it to ANYONE. Not just people who have seen the film, ANYONE. Possibly my favourite Brad Pitt film.

The Shawshank Redemption was on not that long ago. Been the best movie on TV for awhile.

I saw the trailer for that, waited patiently for a DVD release. Bought it. Better than I'd expected actually, it was kind of like The Descent crossed with Alien crossed with Event Horizon. :p

OT:
9th Company, a Russian/Finnish film about the Russian/Afghan war. Brilliant. And Andrei Tarkovsky's Solaris.
I love staying up watching Film 4, it's usually foreign movies from about 11pm onwards, and they're all amazing.
