So, Sony conference made me think about new God of War and God of War made me think about Kratos, and boy, do I hate that guy. Until GoW 3 I could tolerate Kratos, despite all his, let's just say, negative qualities, but one moment in third game made me think "Screw you Kratos, you have no redeeming qualities, you're a complete waste of character and anyone who thinks you're a little bit relatable is a dumbass!" So, what basically happens is Kratos encounters a door that uses some sort of giant wheel mechanism that you have to hold in order to pass. But Kratos is alone, so he needs someone or something who can hold the wheel so that door won't close. And what is the solution that our "hero" comes up with? He grabs some random innocent girl who begs for mercy, shoves her into wheel, wheel grindes her to the bones and Kratos moves on. WHAT THE FUCK? He couldn't just jam the wheel with some shit or, I don't know, use enemy corpses as he did in previous games?! Fuck you Kratos, just fuck you.

So, anyway, what's your "F that guy" moment?

Yeah I never really got into the God of War games because Kratos seemed like such a huge dickweed. That's the same reason why I never played the Saints Row games the characters just seemed like assholes, at least the GTA the main character had some redeeming qualities but in Saints Row you just seem like dicks. I guess my "F that guy" moment in games would have to be... huh I don't really know, I mean I guess any time in a video game where you don't want the protagonist to succeed would be one.

When Gordon Freeman starting spewing racist crap about Lithuanians
Mine was when Link started bombing houses in the suburbs of Castle Town where he suspected someone who lived there was gay.

And then he acts like the victim when Gan Onway Dorf gets pissed at his house being blown up, with his partner Willie "Z Ant" Milds inside.

And that time Mario burned down that Koopa orphanage, spouting about how the "Dirty yellow scalies are ruining the economy." That was a dark day for children everywhere.

Not to mention that Chell is super racist against cyborgs and attempts to murder and mock them, hell at one point she even pretends to be friends with one, only to backstabbingly send him into space on the first occasion she gets.

OT: The villain from Fable 2. Most of the time I didn't really care for him, yeah he killed my sister, but I didn't really know her and besides that he was kinda lame. But then he shot my dog. Fuck. That. Guy.

Kenny from The Walking Dead. I liked him in Episode One, and I admired him looking out for his family, though I thought he was a bit extreme. But throughout Episode Two, he just got less and less likable. Seemed like he didn't care about anyone but his family. My real "screw him" moment was the meat locker incident. After that, I still felt sorry for the guy and I still supported him when he came up with a good idea or he needed it (like in the attic in Episode Four) but I just didn't like the guy. He did redeem himself near the end though.

Also, Relius Clover from Blazblue. I liked him too. He is a freaking awesome villain. But after I saw the full scope of what he did to his family, some of the shit he was willing to do to the other characters, and Makoto's bad ending... please, oh please, let me kill him.

I just played GoW 3 a month ago and I have to agree with you. That moment actually killed God of War series for me. I already disliked the guy, but in GoW 3 he's so unlikable I barely made it to that moment. Still, up until that point I was still interested in the story. But after that I just didn't give a shit anymore. That was it for me. I didn't want to continue playing with Kratos. So I just watched the ending on YouTube to see if Kratos dies at the end. It's strange. I didn't think that something like that can change my mind about the entire series.

Fable 2? What about Reaver? Ughhhhhhh I forget when it was I first started to hate him, but the whole time he really tried hard to be dislikeable.
Oh yeah. In Fable 2 he was a prick but in Fable 3 I though he wasn't a bad character. Sure he was a dick, but he was supposed to be and he pulled it off pretty well (as far as I remember, its been a while.)

I had two moments in Borderlands.

The moment the 'Angel' character started talking to me in my head and telling me what to do, I thought "Fuck that chick".

Once the basic concepts of biology broke down to the point that organic creatures were firing lasers at me from their mouths, I said to my TV screen "Fuck that Planet".

In Fable One, after the 138th time the Guildmaster told me "You health is low! Do you have any potions, or food?", even in my young and naive mind I thought "Fuck that guy".

Really? I hated him even more in Fable 3. Maybe because you have to see him more than Fable 2, where you basically find him, do a quest, then it's the end mission. Fable 3 though.... skrreeeeeeeeeee.

OT: Ulfric Stormcloak. Before he was just kinda whatever, and then you learn more about him and the stormcloaks in general, and I just go "nopenopenope". I have a single character (a nord, imagine that) that's supposed to join the stormcloaks. I haven't even finished helgen.

Kratos was actually an interesting character in the first game. A spiteful ball of rage and daddy issues, but still a rather interesting character. There was actual depth to the characterization, instead of the "waa, I didn't get my way so I'm gonna kill everything" from the sequels.

But then, that's what happens when the first game is a traditional Greek tragedy and the sequels are fuck-tarded action games.
