Today I was out riding my bike whilst listening to my iPod. It was a perfect 23 degrees. Then on my iPod comes the song 'Digital Love' By Daft Punk. When the song came on I had this tranquil moment. The sun was shining, I was happy, all was good, it was a perfect moment.

Has anyone else felt like this? A certain moment where you felt so good?

A few times when I was riding home on the bus from school, tired and weary, I would look out the window and just watch the skies sail above me. You really just forget time.

Much like the OP, cycling down to the lake on a suitably sweltering day with the sweet strains of Mogwai or GY!BE nestling in my earphones.

Or eating a home-made salsa while watching a Sergio Leone spahetti western.
Or lying in bed with my partner, blathering about this and/or that in a semi-conscious state.

Life can be nice.

Sitting reading The Fires of Heaven (Wheel of Time book 5) at 10 o'clock at night while there was a thunderstorm outside, and in the background listening to a combination of
Rain [http://www.rainymood.com/] and Soft jazz music [http://www.endlessyoutube.com/watch?v=HMnrl0tmd3k], with a cup of tea on my lap. It felt amazing.. so content.

I was on the train after a miserable day at work, and "You'll never drink alone" by the Skels came on my Ipod. It made me incredibly happy to think that no matter how shit life got, I'd always be able find someone who'd wanna have a drink with me.

My holliday to Cuba. Nice people, beautiful environment all kinds of things that connected like pieces of a puzzle in the chaos we were in. Till now the two best weeks of my whole life.

One of my favourite "perfect moments" was the day I past my driving test. I had just got in the car, the sun was shining (a rarity in Wales), I was ecstatic at the prospect of absolute freedom with my own car and Destroy the Map by 36 Crazyfists was on my stereo. It was just absolute bliss for a few brief moments until I hit the most horrendous road works and was stuck there barely moving for an hour or so.

Putting my ipod on random, on an ipod with 10000 songs, whenever a song i actually listen to comes on...well that's just a hell yeah moment.
i don't know if you enjoy the feeling of finally getting a song you like playing more than actually just having only the songs you like on the Ipod... but i still reccomend you delete some of the songs. but i'm weird i suppose, i'm that guy with "less than 200 songs" on his "7 year old MP3". Not like that matters, i've got awesome headphones so brilliant sound is guarenteed (much unlike my post not having spelling mistakes).

My perfect moments... probably when i do something on a whim and it goes perfectly. recent example was this guy was being all big headed, talking about how strong and agile and perfect he was to show off to girls. he claimed there was NO guys around who could beat him at a physical activity. Most of them were just annoyed by his big head, but i kinda got annoyed and challenged him to a race to the top of a tree, down again and first one to touch a building about 200m away would be the winner.
i've not had a brilliant reputation for being that much an athletic or physically healthy person (he plays video games and reads manga, aaaaagghh he's a geek, geeks can't be fit! etc.), however, i've always enjoyed running through heavy woodland and climbing trees... so i'm actually very good at both things, whilst he was only a trained track runner. Ended up i was up and down the tree way before he was even halfway up and had finished whilst he was stuck trying to get down...
Then, running back to him i sang my victory song, my favourite song ever, "Take on me" originally by A~ha. i'm not a very good singer, but all the people watching (other people had come to watch, not just showing off infront of the girls from before) cheered me on, a few sang with me... it was fun, gave people a more realistic light of what Geeks are (I define a geek as a person who has hobbies that keep him inside his house and entertained by himself... when he's not with his friends or at school or doing a different hobby)... that guy i beat bounced back pretty quick though, i guess i'd need more than one pin prick to reduce the hot air...

there are other times too, but those are probably more private ;p
so yeah, big senses of achievement and "take on me" are usually the ingredients of my perfect moments.

Last night, I had a dream about you, in this dream, I'm dancing right beside you, and it looked - like everyone was having fun, this kind of feeling - I waited so loooong.

OT: I got this feeling when on a boat trip down a canal on last Wednesday. It was sunny and I was just watching the water ripple beneath the boat. ...Awesome.

Well once I was walking in the middle of the road at 2 AM. No one was awake, there were no cars, and there were only a few street lights on. It was a cold night, because there were no clouds, but there were so many stars. I was nearing the end of 'Dark Side of the Moon' by Pink Floyd. And I looked up just as I got to the song 'Eclipse' and there was the moon, and it was almost full. It just felt really appropriate.

And another time, it was around 5 on a Sunday morning and I was walking home just as the sun was coming up. It was a bit foggy, and it was kind of grey to be honest, but I was listening to 'Sunday Morning' by the Velvet Underground because for once I was awake on a Sunday morning. It was great. Except for the stupid birds making a load of noise and ruining my peaceful state of mind.

I need to stop taking solo walks at absurd hours of the day and night.

I think my perfect moment is whenever I realize [again] that... this is it. I'm seventeen, I'm heading into senior year, I've had a steady girlfriend since freshman, I have loads of friends, and I'm relaxing at the park with a book. It doesn't get more perfect than that for me, and I suppose I couldn't ask for more.

That time I went into a busy school and shot up the place with my Tec-9.

It was great.

I had a great time walking home at 2AM one morning. I'd convinced myself that there was really nothing to worry about and I was smiling to myself... up until the end of my street where I was flashed by a motorcyclist, who keep driving up and down the street past me, then stood outside my house. I nearly cried.

I'm scared of night again.
