I haven't shopped at gamestop in about oh 4 years or so because i much prefer a local game store instead they're used games cheaper, they're trade in value is better, and the staff is less... persistent.
But I betrayed them and I am paying the price. I am a fan of the x-men legends/marvel ultimate alliance series they are very fun beat-um-ups to play with three of your pals. I was lured in by the fact that one character (Juggernaut) can only be gotten by pre-ordering at gamestop.
I says to myself "it's the same price new no matter where I go so i might as well go there. Couldn't hurt? An extra character would be pretty neat.
So I got the game yesterday you know what they told me? I have to sign up on the website and enter my receipt number they will give me a code to put in the PSN a day later.
TWO days later i get an e-mail back saying it was a 'while supplies last' offer and they ran out of codes. I look online to see if there is more info on this. YA know what I found? That it doesn't matter if you pre-ordered because the receipts are no different. So tons of people got on and used up their 'limited supply'. I know it's just one character (who probably isn't all that amazing) but it's the principal of the thing. I wasn't told till I got my game that it was limited supply. This is a bait and switch.
I should not have shopped at gamestop and I'm getting what I deserved: disappointment.
I know I said this 4 years ago but I mean it this time. I am never shopping there again no matter how enticing the offer.
