Have you ever had one of those moments where you know something is wrong, and when you find out why, you facepalm at your own ability to miss a giant glaring point that says, "HI GUYS, I'M THE REASON X HAPPENED!"

I sure have.

I've been depressed recently. It just plain hasn't been letting up. It's rare for me, the Gurren Lagann fanboy, to get depressed at all, and to this degree... Ugh. I'm still depressed, but I only just know figured out why it's so damn bad.

It's because I keep listening to depressing songs.

It's Evangalion. Automatic depression and such.
This song is just... Bleak. If you pay attention, it sounds like the man is going to kill himself or something. Maybe it's just me...

Just... Listen to the lyrics. Fucking hell, the lyrics. The songs are great, but just... The lyrics. And certain lyrics do apply to me, granted only slightly; any way the wind blows, and I wish I could turn back time.

BUT ENOUGH ANGST, have you ever had any "oh duh" moments, where you figure out something IMMENSELY obvious?

(On an unrelated note, I would so make an entire video game just to have the story apply to Bohemian Rhapsody's lyrics so I could play it at the end of the game.)

This might just cheer you up:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CnKUyE2peDw

Anyway, I had one of these a short while back. My father informed me that huge garden spiders were in fact the same spiders as in the house, it's just they've lived long enough to get that big.
And there I was thinking they were two different types of spiders.

Hey, even Simon had his "feeling-down" week.

But on topic, I actually started looking for my iPod to listen to it one day.

While I was using it, and still holding it.

You know when you can't find the thing you're holding in your hand.

That.
Omg, yes. This, or when I search EVERYWHERE for something, and it was in my pocket all along, even though I KNOW I looked there already! I swear!

The original Clannad opening has tons of clips of the After Story.
They're much easier to see in a creditless version of the opening.
The shot of Ushio under the trees near the end is so touching *sniff sniff*.

This may not quite fit what your asking for, but...

I only just realized, a few days ago, something about Phoenix Downs from the Final Fantasy series.
The "down" part means "down" as in soft feathers! As in Phoenix Down means soft Phoenix feathers. I never really thought about it before. Thought it just involved a phoenix and an ally being "down," and it fixes that. Thought it was just some weird name that kind of fit.

It's so obvious now, lol.

Yeah, but he very likely wasn't considering putting a gun to his head.

He was too busy going on about VENGEANCE and how BRO WOULD'VE DONE IT THIS WAY and WHY WON'T THE ROBOT POWERED BY EMOTIONS WORK WHILE I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'M THINKING.

I never quite noticed that before. No wonder it felt so familiar in my left hand. Then again I never paid much attention to the Wii or its controllers.

I was reading The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy for the first time the other day, and it took me a full minute to figure out what he meant by...
"What's so bad about being drunk?"
"You ask a glass of water."
Total facepalm.

Me: "Fine, but where IS it?!"

Urgh. That was a bad day.

That....what? What's your point? Most computer mice (mouses? Whatever) look the same, too. That's because they were designed with the same purpose in mind. It's not some amazing coincidence, it's just common sense.

And uh....The word "OK" sort of looks like a sideways person.

EDIT: And this:

I do this all the time: I'll be looking for something, and it will be right in my hand. I might have actually fiddled with it in the process of searching for it.

I do believe Bohemian Rhapsody is about suicide. Great song though

As for grand realizations? I'll probably think of one later.
