... Or at least they all have the same gender-neutral first name. That's my idea, that they avoid using their legal names because it'd be confusing otherwise. Can you think of a better reason why they and everyone else in town refer to the family group as Brother, Sister, Mama and Papa Bear? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berenstain_Bears

Two interesting things from the wiki:

The group apparently started off as Mama, Papa and Small Bear. Small didn't become 'Brother' until after the birth of his younger sister.

As of recent works, Mama and Papa Bear have a third child with a firmer first name: Honey.

If this is an attempt at trolling: Points for creativity, I guess?

If this is a serious attempt at a thread: Uh....Back to the drawing board.

If this thread is actually a reference to something other the Berenstien Bears, like some kind of joke topic that is neither trolling nor serious: I didn't get it. Obviously.

I had no clue there was a program in the 80s.

They're just supposed to represent a typical family. They'd be a creepier kind of "family" if they all had the same name.

Also, I have the book where the sister is born.
