People seem so critical about DLCs, so for a change, and to get me away from the current "Genderpocalypse" in off topic, let's talk about the best ones yet. Pretty simple, really.

My favourites;

Oblivion; The shivering isles.

Oblivion's almost a sum up of DLC. It shows the evils of it (F***ing horse armour) and the great potential of it, namedly, the shivering isles. It gave us one of the most imaginative enviroments ever, inhabited by crazy characters and oft-horrific monsters. I pretty much soiled myself when I realised the volley of spells I threw at one of the tree creatures had turned it into a giant. Sheogorath also made this DLC brilliant because, well, how can you not love a man who greets you with the words "I'm so happy, I could rip out your intestines, and strangle you with them!"

Red dead redemption; Undead nightmare.

It seems like a dumb, or crazy idea. Red dead+zombies, modern gamings answer to the old WW2 trend=profit, but this is really cleverly done. It manages to be so much, funny, scary (what with zombies practically having to be shot in the head) and even sad at points. The subtle touches show the effort put into this, the colour scheme having been altered slightly to show that something's wrong even before the living dead show up en masse.

Gears of war 3; Ramms shadow

Gears of war 3 was just one of those sequals that makes the other games seem poor by comparison. Matter of fact, about the only thing I kinda missed was the old enemies, and the e-holes. Then along comes ramms shadow and essentially makes gears 1 and 2 redundant in my collection. Not only that, but it let us play as General f***ing ramm, and it was badass. It was a little bit of a missed opportunity story wise, as it did nothing to show as the locust viewpoint, but then again, Ramm getting all emotional just wouldn't have went well, and the human side of the story is fantastic, showing us an earlier point in the war (an excuse for some fantastic visuals involving a world that isn't COMPLETELY destroyed) and some of the characters at earlier points, along with some welcome fresh faces.

Fallout New Vegas: Old World Blues.
Brilliant Fallout humour we've come to expect with a great atmosphere.

Borderlands: All of them (except Moxxi's Underdome).
Lengthy DLCs with with ridiculous plots and hilarious characters and phat loots!

I thought Shivering Isles was an expansion?

Return to Ostagar for Dragon Age was pretty good DLC, so was the Stone Prisoner in fact.

The Witcher's 2 DLC was best because it was free.

I greatly enjoyed all of the DLC in Fallout: New Vegas.

Personally, I loved Dead Money the most. Dog/God was tied with Veronica and Boone as my favourite companion in the whole game (DLCs included).

Sheogorath could verywell be my favorite RPG character ever, all things considered. Also I really liked all the special homes you could get. Each one had it's own perks (a lair for vampires with a free meal any time they need it, a tower for mages that has everything a mage could ever want, the pirates that go out plundering and bring you back a crap-ton of gold, etc) and they were all very neat and well made. Back to the perks, I really liked how the special homes weren't just cool places to live, but they were actually functional and their functions were actually pretty damn useful.

:p While Moxxi's wasn't exactly fun to play (dear god, soloing the long versions of the challenges took SIX FRICKIN' HOURS A PIECE!), at least it was useful in giving you a weapons' bank to stash all your crap. :p That said, this was my favorite one of the bunch:

"That's a swear! :( " xD

Anywho, let's see, for my own choice of "Best DLC Evar!"......really gotta say that Shivering Isles and the Borderland stuff probably is the best ever in my book, as such I'll bring up an honorable mention:

Lair of the Shadow Broker (Mass Effect 2):

<spoiler=Just in case someone reads this who actually hasn't played ME2/LotSB> Gotta say i really enjoyed this one, probably the most out of all the ME DLC. When you first heard about the Shadow Broker in ME 1, I just knew that sooner or later you would be confronting him or her or them or whatever. But I honestly had no idea that it would be Liara, of all people, that ended up hunting him down, killing him, and tkaing his place. The missions of the DLC were fun, ranging from a car chase to a battle against a Specter Vanguard to taking you to a ship built to survive in a massive lightning storm. But one of my favorite parts about it was all the little extras that you get to experience once you've beaten it. The dossier terminals that give you extra information and transcripts of conversations for your squadmates (Legion's gamer profile is hilarious. He's charged with cheating numerous times but gets all the charges dropped....the only charge that he doesn't get dropped is one for unsportsman-like conduct which he takes a 3 day game suspension for). So yeah, out of all the Mass Effect DLC, gotta say LotSB was my favorite.

My favorite one DLC was Old World Blues for NV. But I think I spent the most time and had te most fun with all of the DLC packs for Fallout 3.NV was good but I preferred the location for 3 more the mojave desert became boring faster.

I'm probably going to catch some flak for this, but I really enjoyed "From Ashes". The conversations with Javik felt deeper than the other squadmates' put together. Maybe that's just me though, I don't know.

Well, yes it was, however technically it is also a DLC - it's content you can download.

And I'd cast another vote for it. It's pretty much the interesting bit from Oblivion. Also, it's of very high quality (well, being expansion and all). I love it.

I'd say Shivering isles is one of the best pieces of DLC ever released and a great example of how it should be done.

GTA:IV "The lost and damned" and "Ballad of gay Tony" were also very good.

Whatever genius came up with the idea to link all of Fallout New Vegas' DLCs into an overarching story without comprimising the narrative punch of the idividual stories deserves a medal. So, my vote goes to that.

Maybe DX:HR's Missing Link, if only because, well, it's more DX:HR. The fact that there's a third option to the sadistic choice made me get a bit angry, though.
